Mysore, the second largest city of Karnataka state, celebrates its fairs and festivals with great religious fervor. Fairs and festivals are essential parts of culture and tradition of Mysore. Ten day festival of Dussera in Mysore involves several religious and cultural activities. In ancient times, the mighty ruler Vijayanagar Empire used to take out a large procession of elephants on the occasion of the festival. In modern day too people of Mysore take out colorfully dressed elephant in the procession which goes round the city.

  Yugadi is major festival of Karnataka state. Mysore, being a part of Karnataka, also celebrates Yugadi with much pomp and show. The festival marks the beginning of New Year for the people of Karnataka and hence the festival is celebrated with much fanfare. The festival usually comes in the end of March month or in the beginning of April. Besides Dussera and Yugudi, other major festivals like Deepawali and Holi are celebrated Mysore with much pomp and show.

Guthikonda Caves :

The diverse culture of Ahmedabad is known all over the world. The people here are very obsessive regarding their celebration of every festival. Be it Navratri or for that matter Kite flying festival, the people of Ahmedabad celebrates each and every festival with same zeal and gusto. People of Ahmedabad are generally food loving people. The cookery of Ahmedabad is very famous. Ahmedabad is heavenly for food lovers. A Gujrati Thali food has many mouth watering dishes. Beautiful city of Guwahati in the state of Assam is known for its rich culture and traditions. All major festivals like Deepawali, Dussera, Christmas and Id-ul-fitr are celebrated with much pomp and show.  Apart from these festival Guwahati also hosts myriads of other festivals and fairs. Ambubachi Mela is the biggest fair in the entire state of Assam. The fair is held at Kamakhya temple in Guwahati every year in the month of June. Bohag Bhiu is a prominent festival of Guwahati. The festival comes in the month of April and also marks the new year of Assam. Bohag Bhiu festival is celebrated for the seven days.

Manasa festival is another major festival of Guwahati. Kamakhya temple in Guwahati is the main venue of the celebration of the festival. Manasa festival comes in the month of September every year and witnesses thousands of devotees offering prayer to the deity of the temple for abolishing all evils things from the region. The city of Guwahati also hosts Brahmaputra beach festival. Brahmaputra Beach Festival is the most charming event of the city. It is organized by Assam Tourism Development Authority every year at the beautiful beach of Brahmaputra river on the bank of which the city of Guwahati is situated.  This three-day festival witnesses many cultural and sports activities. Many water sports activities like surfing, kayaking, Canoeing and rafting are organized on the occasion. Folk dance and songs, crafts show, elephant race and many other entertaining activities are seen alluring the visitors who flock there from across the country during the celebration of the festival. Jonbeel Mela, Durga Puja and Rangoli Utsav are other prominent fairs and festivals celebrated with much fanfare in Guwahati. 

Vijayawada, the land of victory as it literally means, is the third largest city of Andhra Pradesh state. Also known as Bezawada, the city of Vijayawada is perched on the bank of Krishna River. It is home to several places of attractions which draw a number of tourists to the city from different parts the country. 
                                                                                       

 Kondapali fort :
Kondapali fort is a major tourist attraction of Vijayawada located in the Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh,India.Located at the top of a hillock near the city, Kondapali Fort was assumedly built by Prolaya Vema Reddi, the founder of Kondaveedu’s Reddi kingdom during the 14th century. According to some historians, the fort dates back to the 7th century and was built by Krishna Deva Raya. The village Kondapali where this historic structure stands is also famous for its toys popularly known as Kondapali toys.


Undavalli Caves :
Undavalli caves is another place of interest near Vijayawada. These 7th century old caves hold great historical significance. A large statue of Lord Vishnu carved out of a single granite piece is the main highlight of the caves. The caves present the tourists excellent work of rock-cut architecture and sculptures. Take some time out to visit Mogalrajapuram Caves known for several beautiful rock-cut sculptures and architecture.



 Victoria Museum :
 Another place of interest in Vijayawada is Victoria Museum. The museum is known for its collection of several ancient Andhra Pradesh sculptures, inscriptions, idols, paintings, cutlery, weapons, etc. It also displays the prehistoric stone tools, weapons, metal works, coins, etc. A large granite statue of Lord Buddha is the main attraction of Victoria Museum in Vijayawada. A beautiful white limestone figure of Lord Buddha in standing position can also be seen there.

Bhavani Island, Rajiv Gandhi Park and Gandhi Hill are other places of attraction situated in and around the city of Vijayawada.

Surat, the second largest city of Gujarat state, is known for its diamond business.This commercial city of Gujarat accounts for more than 90 per cent of world’s diamond cutting and polishing business and hence it is sometimes referred as the diamond of city of India. Besides, the city is home to several places of interest which attract a number of tourists from different parts of the country.

The old fort :

The old fort of Surat is a key attraction of Surat. It is a historical significance structure in the region. The fort was built by Muhammad Tughalak during the 14th century. The fort was built as fortification against attacks by Bhil groups. Your tour to Gujarat is incomplete without your visit to Surat’s vast textile market. Surat is also famous for its large scale textile market in the country.

Dumas Beach:

Dumas beach, situated just 16 km away from Surat, the beach is famous tourist place and for black sand. Apart from this traveler can visit a Dariya Ganesh temple adjoining the beach. There are plenty of Cottages and hotels are available for the accommodation facility.

 Bardoli :

Bardoli is another place of interest located around the city of Surat. The place has historical significance in Gujarat as well as in India because it was the same place where the father of the nation, 'Mahatma Gandhi' started his famous Bardoli Satyagraha against policies of British in India. In memory of this historical event, Swaraj Ashram has been built there.

Bulsar, known for its Vansda National Park is another major attraction near Surat. The place offers wild life adventure tourism in the state. Jeep safaris are available for the tourists to have close views of wild animals in their natural habitat. Hajira Beach is yet another place of attraction to be visited around the city. Located just 28 km away from Surat, Hajira Beach is known for its vast spread golden sand, cool and pleasant air and large number of lush green Casurina trees situated along the shore of Arabian Sea.
