Bandikui is a small town located in Dausa district of Rajasthan state, India. It is a railway junction under North Western Railway, Jaipur. It has been a major railway hub since the time of British rule in India. The first train in Rajasthan during British regime was started from Bandikui to Agra. Bandikui thus happens to be the first railway junction in the state of Rajasthan. Nearby railway stations to Bandikui are Arnia and Gulana, while Jaipur (100 km) serves to be the nearest major railhead.
There are many places of interest located around Bandikui
town. Abhaneri is a prominent tourist place situated just about 7 km south east
of Bandikui. Famous for several
historic and religious importance places, Abhaneri
is much frequented place near Bandikui. Chand Bawri is popular place in
Abhaneri. It is a beautifully carved old step well. It serves as one of the
deepest and largest step wells of India. Another important place near Chand
Bawri is Harshad Mata Temple. Built in the 10th century, Harshad
Mata temple is known for its structure and architecture. The goddess Harshad
Mata is believed to be goddess of happiness and joy. One can also take some
time out to visit Badiyal Kalan which is just 3 km away from Abhaneri. The
place is famous for its Hanuman Temple and several other old temples.
Situated at about 11 km away from Bandikui, Jhajirampura is famous for its stone
Gaumukh (Cow mouth). Water keeps coming out of this Gaumukh all the time. A
beautiful rose garden situated near Gaumukh is another attraction of
Jhajirampura. Apart from above mentioned places there are many other worth
visiting places around the town of Bandikui. Other attractions near Bandikui include
Kalakho Lake, Karnawar, Sikandara and Mehandipur Balaji.
