Tourist Places in Thanjavur

Thanjavur is a city in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is the headquarter of the district of same name Thanjavur district.  It is also known as Tanjore. The city flourished as learning and culture center especially in Cholla dynasty who rule there from 11th to 14th century. Thanjavur is known for its antiques, handicrafts, cotton saris, handloom silk saris etc. Tanjore Painting is also famous here. Thanjavur falls in fertile Cauvery delta region.  Cultivation of rice crop is done there on large scale. It is even sometimes called as the Rice Bowl of South India.

Brahadeshwara temple :
Brahadeshwara temple of is an ancient temple in the region.  It is world heritage site recognized by UNESCO. It was built by Chola king. The temple is built in excellent architecture and has 216 feet high tower over the shrine. It is visited by many devotees. The Chandra Bagawan temple, The Lord Murugan temple, the Sani Bhagawan Temple and Thirumananjeri are other some temples to be seen in and around the Thanjavur.

Airavateswara temple :
Airavateswara temple near Kumbakonam is another religious place you can visit in Thanjavur district. It is also a world heritage site recognized by UNESCO. Other than temples Thanjavur also houses other place of interest in and around it.


Vijayanagara Fort and Siva Ganga Garden are some of them to be seen near Thanjavur.

Tourist Places in Savandurga


Savandurga is a hill located in the state of Karnataka, India. The hill is famous for a temple situated there. It is just 33 km away from Bangalore, capital city of the state. Savandurga Hill is one of the largest monolith hills in the world. The height of the hill rises up to 1226 m and it’s structure is mainly consisted of Penisular gneiss, basic dykes, granites and laterites. Savandurga is made of two hills known as Kariguda and Biliguda. In local language Kariguda means black hill while Biliguda means white hill. Narasimha Swami Temple is another important place of worship in Savandurga. The temple is visited by many devotees from across the state.  Yellow throated Bulbul can be seen near the surrounding region of Savandurga. Leopard and sloth bear can also be found here.
 There are other places of attraction in and around it. Manchinbele Dam and Thippagondanahalli Reservoir are some of them and can be seen near Savandurga.

Tourist Places in Thrissur

Thrissur is one of the largest cities in the state of Kerala, India. It was earlier known as Trichur. It is the head quarter of the district of same name Thrissur district. It was the place of capital of erstwhile kingdom of Cochin. Thrissur is an old city and is known as cultural capital of the state. The city is believed to be created by Parshurama, one of incarnations of Lord Vishnu. The city is formed around Wadakumnathan temple dedicated to Lord of Shiva.
Thrissur houses many places of interest in and around it. 

Shakthan Thampuran Palace:
Shakthan Tampuram Palace is one of them. It is also known as Vadakkekara Palace and was built in 1795 by Ramvarma Thampuran of former princely state of Cochin. The palace is a beautifully blend of Keralite and Dutch style of architecture.

Archaeological and Art Museum:
Archeological and Art Museum is another attraction of the city to be visited in the city. The museum is home to a nice collection of metal works, wood carvings, ancient handicrafts etc.




Thrissur Zoo:

Basilica of Our Lady of Dolours:

Vilangan Kunnu:

Sirkazhi is a town in Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located in Tanjore district of the state. It is religious place situated between Mayiladuthurai and Chidambaram. It is typical south Indian small town with calm and beautiful places around.  The people of Sirkazhi have still preserved their traditional customs and rituals.  There are many mythological stories which are related with Sirkazhi. Sirkazhi temple is a famous place of worship in the region. The temple has about 20 Tirthas in its complex. Brahma Tirtha is important of them. Brahmapureeswarar temple :
Brahmapureeswarar temple complex has three temples dedicated to Lord Shiva.  It also houses the temple of  Sattanathaswami. The temple is beautifully built in traditional Hindu architectural style and many devotees throng here on the occasion of Maha Shivratri.



How to reach :-
Sirkazhi can be reached by many state run buses that connect it to Chidambaram, Nagapattinam and other cities of Tamil Nadu state. Mayavaram serves as the nearest rail head to Sirkazhi. The railway station is just 20 km from it and is well linked to other cities and towns of the state and the country. If you travelling by air Trichi is the place where you get down. Trichi Airport is connected by domestic flights to Chennai. From Trichi you can get to Mayiladutharai city. Mayiladutharai is further well linked by road to Sirkazhi.

Temperature of the region varies according to season. It reaches up to of 32 degree Celsius in summer while in winter it remains around 21 degree Celsius. Travellers looking for water sports and scuba diving must visit between October to March. This is also the best festival time in India so you may witness purely Konkan cuture during this time.
For people who wish to enjoy heavy rainfall and unleash the natural green belt of Konkan, July to September is the best time for them.

Tourist places in Madurai

Tourist Places in Dahanu


Dahanu, popularly known for it's fascinating beach, is a coastal town located in Thane district of Indian state of Maharashtra.  The town has derived its name ‘’Dahanu’’ from Dhenu, which means cows. It is believed that people in the village once owned many cows. The town now is a major industrial and commercial center in Thane district. It is also known for Chickoo fruit production.  Dahanu contributes about 35 per cent of total production of Chickoo in India. It is also famous for rose garden and coconut grooves. Rubber balloons and rice mill are other industrial products of the Dahanu. It houses a mega power plant of 500mw which provides electricity to the city of Mumbai. Dahanu is home to many temples in and around it. Sri Kevda Devi Mandir, Jagruti Hanuman Mandir, Santoshi temple, Sri Gajanan Mandir are some of many other temples worth visiting in and around the town.     
The town also houses beautiful sculptured Jain temples. One of the temples is located in the Dahanu Gaon. It is about 100 years old. Chandrababu temple is another temple around the town. Situated at Kosbad hill, a newly built temple has become very popular among the tourist from Mumbai and Guljarat.

Alwar, formerly known as Mewat, is a city of Indian state of Rajasthan. Situated in Aravalli region, the city is blend of different traditions. Tourist Places in Bhiwani, Haryana



Bhiwani is a town and municipality in the state of Haryana. It is the headquarters of Bhiwani district located near the Thar Desert. Bhiwani gets its reference in Ain-e-Akbari. It was set up by a Rajput king and was named after his wife Bhani. In the course of the time the name Bhani was changed to present Bhiwani. The town has been a prominent place of commerce since Mughal era. Home to several prominent temples, Bhiwani is sometimes referred to as the small Kashi of India. Bhiwani is the boxing powerhouse of India. It hosts a boxing academy established by Captain Hawa Singh, a legendary Indian boxer.

Gauri Shankar Mandir :Gauri Shankar Mandir is another prominent place of worship. It was built in 1955 by Seth Kirorimal. Bilaspur is second largest city of state of Chhattisgarh, India. Known for its aromatic Doobraj rice and handloom woven soft Kosa saris, Bilaspur also houses many places worth visiting. The city is situated at 111 km south of   the state capital Raipur. Chhattisgarh High Court at Bilaspur makes the city be known as ‘’Nyaydhani’’ (place of justice) of the state.  It has also become a major center of education as students from other parts of the state come there for medical and engineering exams. How to get there: Air, rail and road connect the city to other parts of the state and the country.  Bilaspur Airport is located at Chakabhatta which is just 10km away from center of the city. But it has not any regular flights from airliners. Nearest airport is at Raipur which is about 110 km away and it has regular flights from Delhi, Nagpur, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bhopal and other major cities of the country. Bilaspur is Zonal Head Office of South East Central Railway and well connected to other many parts of the country. Many state run buses and private luxury buses connect the city to other cities and towns of the state.

Other details : The city of Bilaspur celebrates all major festivals of India. Local festival in which they perform colorful Route Dance is celebrated in the month of November.

Tourist Places in Ambala

Ambala is a city in Indian state of Haryana. It is located on the border between Punjab and Haryana. It is a Municipal Corporation and the headquarters of Ambala district. Ambala consists of two sub areas- Ambala Cantonment and Ambala town. These two areas are 3 km apart from each other. Both Indian military and Indian air force have their presence in Ambala Cantt. Badshahi Bag Gurudwara and Sis Ganj Gurudwara are other major pilgrimage places of Sikhs located in Ambala.

Rani Ka Talab :
Apart from the places of religious significance, Ambala also hosts other places of interest like Rani Ka Talab and Planetarium. Rani Ka Talab is historical legacy of the city. This 500 years old pond was constructed by Raja Ranjit Singh of Chhachhrauli. It is located in Ambala Cantt and is under the control of Indian Army. An ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is also located on the bank the pond.

Ambala Planetarium :It is one of the oldest planetariums in the country. It was set up in the 1950s. Designed by Pt. Jagannath Sharma, a spearhead in scientific products   industry, Ambala Planetarium attracts tourists’ attention by its magnificent dome structure. Amazing visual appearance of sky at any given latitude is the main highlight of the planetarium.

How to reach: Ambala has good rail and road connectivity. Ambala City Railway Station is located in the center of the city.  It is well connected by several trains to many other parts of India. Ambala is perched on the national highway no 1 (NH-1) connecting Delhi and Amritsar.  State-run buses also connect the city to other parts of Haryana state. Chandigarh (50 km) is the nearest airbase to Ambala.

Tourist Places in Lonar, Maharashtra

Popular for its crater and lake, Lonar is a town in the state of Maharashtra, India. It located in the district of Buldhana. It is situated at distance of 140 km from Buldhana and 160 km from Aurangabad. It is very scorching in summer as temperature rises high. October to February is the best time to visit Lonar. This makes the water salty and therefore this salt water Lake of Lonar is the only salt water lake made on Basalt rocks in the world. It has the average diameter of 1.2km. Lonar Lake has become a subject of research for many like geologists, ecologists, archeologist and astronomers. The lake is visited by many scientifically oriented people and many other people who are curious about the strange lake. The lake does not house any living organisms in it and if roots of any tree get in to it the tree loses its life soon. The lake is surrounded by many trees and various species of bird are seen flying around the lake.
 You can also visit to the temple of Kamja Devi which is located near the lake. Daityasudan Surya temple is another place of interest near Lonar.
Road connects Lonar to other parts of the state. Several state run buses and other private vehicles links it to Buldhana, AurangabadPune and many other cities and towns of the state. Shegaon is the closet railway station to Lonar. The station is connected to Bhusawal railway junction which is further linked to many other parts of the state and the country. Chikalthana Airport at Aurangabad is nearest one to it. The airport is well linked by regular flights to Mumbai.
