Tourist places in Amboli,Maharashtra


Situated at Sahyadri Hills, Amboli is one of the most popular hill stations of the state of Maharashtra. The hill station is known for many fascinating waterfalls, beautiful natural sights and fresh air. The native language of the region is Marathi and Hindi is also widely spoken in the region. Amboli is situated at the altitude of 690 m and has pleasant weather throughout year. Its temperature ranges from 22 to 40c in summer and from 12 to 33c in winter. The best time to visit Amboli is from October to March.

 is a beautiful water fall and one of many major tourist attractions in the region. The water fall is very fascinating to see water falling down beastly. It is a major picnic spot for many tourists.

Nangartas Fall : 


which is just 10 km away from Amboli and it is located in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. Though the water fall is small one but it draws attractions of many tourists.

Madhavgarh Fort : 

is a historical important place of Amboli. It was four times bigger than the famous Shaniwarwada of Pune, Maharashtra. Though the fort is now in its ruins state, it offers tourist beautiful views of nearby forest including wonderful view of Konkan and Arabian Sea.

Shiva temple : 

is religious important place of Amboli. The temple is old one and it is believed that the person who built this temple was the manifestation of Lord Shiva. The temple is very sacred and peaceful place. Bauxite mine are just 10km away from Amboli and it offers visitors many beautiful landscape views.

How to get there: 

By Road:

Amboli is well connected by road to many other cities and town of the state and the country. Many state run buses and private luxury buses connect the hill station to many other parts of the state and the country.  Also several car hire companies offer a convenient shuttle service right from the major nearby cities to Amboli at affordable price.

By Train:

Nearest railway station to Amboli is Sawantwadi railway station which is just 30km away from Amboli.  Sawantwadi railway station is connected to many other cities of the state and the country.

By Air: 

The nearest airport for Amboli is located in Goa which is connected by many domestic flights to many major cities like Mumbai and Bangalore. International flights are connected to Mumbai airport which is about 555 km away from Amboli.

Tourist places Udvada, Gujarat

Udvada is famous holy town for Parsis in India. It is situated between Daman and Valsad in the state of Gujarat. The town of Udvada is renowned for its Atash Behram, the ritual fire of the Zoroastrians. Zoroastrians in India is called as Parsis. The Udvada Atasha Behram is the most revered Zoroastrian fire temple in India. It is oldest continuously burning fire-temple in the world. Atash Behram in Udvada is one of the nine Atash Behram worldwide eight of which are located only in India (especially in western India) and remaining one is in Yazd, Iran.

Udvada is a seaside village and is mostly inhabited by Parsis. It is distant from other cities of Gujarat with many old style Parsis buildings found there. Pleasant breeze, lush green surrounding and cool and calm ambience in Udvada attracts many tourists along with Parsi pilgrims. Here in Udvada you will find many Faredome cottages. These are old Parsi buildings which have stood the time and are still intact. These monumental Parsi structures attract many historians and archeologists. Efforts are being made to protect Faredome Cottages and get the status of world heritage site for them.

Udvada seashore has now been turned into a beautiful beach. The beach has muddy brown sand and rocky terrain. Here you can get the glimpses of lives, cultures and customs of fishermen community of Udvada.

By Train:

Udvada railway station which is 11 km away from the center of Udvada town is well linked to Mumbai and thereby other cities of India.

By Road:

Maharashtra and Gujarat state run buses connect Udvada to Mumbai and other cities and towns of those states.

By Air:

Mumbai which is 205 km away from Udvada serves as closest airbase to it. Mumbai Airport is well connected to other major cities of India and other countries.

Tourist places in Lonavala, Maharashtra


Lonavala is a city and hill station in Indian state of Maharashtra. Lonavala is situated in the district of Pune and is 64 km away from it.  It is elevated at the height of 625m and is popular tourist spot in entire Maharashtra. Marathi is widely spoken language in the region while Hindi is also spoken by some. It has pleasant climate throughout the year and can be visited any time of the year.

Places of interest: Lonavala offers its tourists many places of attraction in and around it. 

Rajmachi Point :-

  It is famous place situated 6km from Lonavala. This point offers beautiful views of surrounding valleys and Shivaji’s favorite fort Rajmachi fort.

Ryewood Park :- 

It is another place of interest. The park is abundant with tall trees. It also houses a Shiva temple nearby.
Valvan dam is another place to visit near Lonavala. It is just 2km away from the town. The dam has at its foot a beautiful garden.

Duke’s Nose :-

   It is a popular cliff near Lonavala. The cliff is named after Due wellington whose nose resemble the popular cliff.

Lonavla Lake :-


is a fascinating place which offers wonderful surrounding sceneries the lake is just 1.5 km from the town.

 It divides the basins of the Indrayani and Pavna and is situated on a side range of the Sahyadris.Lohgarh is popular for trekking.A panoramic view of the Pawna dam can be seen from the fort. There are a number of local trains operating between Lonavla and Pune.
Karla Caves, Lion’s Point, Tungarli Lake, Shooting Point and wax museum are some of the other place of attraction to be seen in Lonavala.
There are many hotels and resorts which provide accommodation facilities to the tourists.

Lonavala is famous for its Chikkis. Many people are seen thronging to stores to purchase Chikkis, Fudges and other savories.

Here you will not miss Masala Chai as it is available at almost every hill station and tourist spot.  Lonavala also offers its tourists its favorite snacks like Vadapav and hot Bhajiyas.  

How to get Lonavala:  


Road and rail connects it to other parts of the state and the country. Lonavala is situated on Pune-Mumbai express way and hence connected well to Pune Mumbai and other cities and towns of the state. Lonavala has its own railway station which well linked to Pune and other cities of the state. Closest airport is Pune Airport which well connected by several flights to major cities of the country.  You can book a taxi or cab from Pune airport to reach city center.

Tourist places in Bhilai,India


Bhilai is a city situated in Durg district of Chhattisgarh state, India. It is located at 25km west of state capital of Raipur. Bhilai is famous for Bhilai Steel Plant. It is the largest steel plant in India and known for being the only manufacturer of rails for Indian Railway. The city is known for many festivals that are celebrated throughout the year. Weather of Bhilai is pleasant during the winter and hot and dry during the summer.
Places of interest:  The city of Bhilai houses many places worth visiting in and around it.
Maitri Bagh : It is a zoo and park established by Bhilai Steel Plant. There are two huge man-made water lakes near the Bagh. One water lake is used to supply the water to the township and other is used for Steel Plant itself. These lakes are worth visit places in Bhilai. Bhilai Water Works is situated right across the Maitri Bagh. It is a facility which is used to provide clean water to Bhilai townships. Maitri Bagh, Garden of Friendship as it literally means, was established as a symbol of India – USSR friendship.
Civic Centre : It is another place of interest in Bhilai. It was earlier started as shopping center consisting of two rows of shops and stores arranged in L shape. Initially it had TATA textile on one side and Bata Shoes on other.  The Civic center was major center for lots of social activities, entertainment and shopping for a long time. Then a lot of changes happened after that in Civic center and nearby.  There is a doomed shaped super market Near the Civic center and it is now used as art exhibition.
Open Air theater :
In the east of Civic Centre there is an open space with a stage and it is known as ‘’Open –Air-Theatre and used for various cultural activities including musical night shows. Kala Mandir, situated right of Civic center, is used for various purposes. It was earlier a movie theatre known as Chitra Mandir. Other places of interest include

Nellore is a city in Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the headquarter of Potti Sri Ramulu Nellore district. The district earlier was known as Nellore. The city of Nellore was known in ancient times as Vikrama Simhapuri. It is situated on the banks of Penna River. It is also famous for its mica and lemon production.    The city gets its name from the Tamil word ‘’Nell’’ which means Paddy. The cultivations of paddy are done here on large scale.  Nellore is also one of the fastest emerging economy in the state of Andhra Pradesh.  The region was under many dynasties like Kharavela of Chedi, Mouraya dynasty, Pallavas, Satvahan, Cholas dynasty etc.

Temple of Sri Talpagiri Ranaganatha swami :
It is located just 5 km away from Nellore. The temple is built 6000 years ago and is located on the banks of Penner River. The temple has seven beautiful gold Kalisams. Brmhostavam, a grand festival is celebrated here every year during the month of March-April.  

 The temple of Mallikarjuna Swami Kamakshi Tai :
It is another place of worship in Jonnwada near Nellore. The temple is situated just 12 km from Nellore. The deity of the temple is believed to fulfill the wishes of devotees and hence it is visited by many people throughout the year.

Vedagiri Lakshmimarasimha Swami Devastanam :
It is another religious place you can visit. It is believed to be built in 9th century and inscription found on the rock proves that the temple was founded by Narasimha Varma, a Pallava King. 
   


Penchalakona :
 
It is yet another sacred ancient place. According to mythology it is said that lord Narasimha bathed here in Penchalakona after he killed a demon named Hiranya Kashyap and took his original form of Lord Vishnu.

The temple of Sri Gayathri Devi Vishwakarma :  
It is another religious place to be seen near Nellore. It is situated in Virat Nagar and believed to be one of the largest Gayatri Devi temples in entire state of Andhra Pradesh.
Nellore is well connected by road and rail to other parts of state and the country. Nellore railway station is well linked by many trains to Hyderabad, Chennai and other cities and towns of the state and the country. Many state run buses and other private vehicles are available form other cities and towns of the state. Chennai serves as the nearest airbase to Nellore. Chennai is about 174 km away and is well linked by many flights to other major cities of the country.
