Tourist places in Guhagar,Maharashtra


Guhagar is a town of Ratnagiri district of Indian state of Maharashtra. The district is situated in Konkan region of the state. It is mainly known for its beautiful and clean beach. The town and the surrounding region are famous for coconuts, Happus Mangos and betel nuts.  Konkani is the native language of the region. Marathi and Hindi are other languages spoken here. Guhagar has become a popular tourist spot to spend holidays. Beautiful natural surroundings unexploited beach of Arabian Sea and many religious temples draw many tourists from far and wide.

Guhagar Beach :
Guhagar Beach is the most popular tourist attraction of Guhagar. It
is one of the cleanest and less polluted beaches in Maharashtra.The beach is considered to be one of the cleanest beaches of India. The beach is unexploited site and nice place to spend holidays.




Gopalgad hill :
Gopalgad hill is another place of interest. It is situated in Anjanvel village near Guhagar. There situates a historical important fort known as the Gopalgad Fort. This fort is believed to be founded by Siddis in the early 16th century. Later it was conquered by Shivaji Maharaj. Gopalgad hill also offers a trekking site to tourist. A premise of lighthouse which is located on the top of the hill provides tourists fascinating views of beautiful surrounding nature.

Hedvi :
Hedvi is another popular religious place. It is a small village situated about 27 km from Guhagar. The village houses two important places of religious significance.   





The temple of Dashbhuja Ganpati :
The temple of Dashbhuja Ganpati is one of them. The temple was built in times of Peshwas. Other important religious place is Brahman Ghal, located just 3km away from the temple. 




Temple of Vyadeshwar, Ufarata Ganpati, Velaneshwar, Budhal, Chandika Mandir are some of the other religious sites to be seen here in and around Guhagar.
How to reach there: 
You can reach this beautiful town by State Transport buses from Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Chiplun and other cities and town of the state. Other private vehicles like cars and luxury buses are also available from these cities and from other parts of the state. Chiplun is the nearest railway station to the town. It is about 40 km away from it and connected by many trains to other cities of the state and the country. Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at Mumbai is the closest airport to Guhagar. It is about 300km away from the town. The airport is well linked by many domestic and international flights to other major cities of India and other countries.

Other details: Guhagar offers tourists its home made products like Phanas Poli, Amaba Poli, Pickles, Kokan  Agal, Jams, etc. Prepared by family members, food is of good taste and Hygienic to eat. The dishes include some local foods also.
        

Tourist places in Anamalai,Tamil Nadu

Located in Indian state of the Tamil Nadu, Anamalai is known for its abundant wildlife. It is a small village situated in the district of Coimbatore. The village of Anamalai exists near the wildlife area where different kinds of animals like panthers, crocodiles, tigers, elephants, spotted dear and wild boars are found in great number. The village also has many beautiful landscapes views around it.
Though Tamil is native language of the region, Malayalam and English are also widely spoken. Temperature there varies from 35 to 40 c in summer and from 22 to 33 c in winter. The best time to visit Anamalai is from June to March.

Parambikulam wild life sanctuary :
Parambikulam wild life sanctuary is major tourist spot in Anamalai and it offers tourists Jungle safaris. The sanctuary is situated near another Anaimalai wild life sanctuary. Parambikkulm Sanctuary is mainly known for Parambikkulam Dam that is located there. Surrounded by amazing green forest Thoonakkadavu Lake is beautiful place to explore. The lake is formed by Parambikkulam Dam and it offers tourists wonderful experience of Lake Cruise. Great care should be taken while exploring the lake as many crocodiles live near the water’s edge. Mt. Stuart Block near Aanaimalai is home to ancient forest department bungalow. The place houses the grave of Hugo wood. Hugo wood was a British officer whose work was especially dedicated to conserving this forest.
Anamalai Sanctuary :
Anamalai Sanctuary, named as Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary, is home to many exotic animals and birds and it offers its tourist very interesting place to explore. Animals that are found there in large number include panthers, tigers, elephants, spotted deer and wild boars. Rocket-tailed drongo, spotted dove, tree pai and red whiskered bulbul are some of the birds found there.

Kolikamuthi Elephant Camp :
Kolikamuthi Elephant Camp is another interesting place to visit. The camp is famous for housing trained elephants. About 50 Malisar tribe families live there. These people are very skilled to handle the Asian elephants. Known for its scenic nature.


Anamalai Hills :
Anamalai Hills is also ideal place for trekking. The hill offers its tourist wide variety of trekking routes from simple to difficult trek. So if you are novice this place is the right place for trekking. Top Slip and Varagaliar Elephant Camp are some of the other places worth visiting in Anamalai.



How to reach: 
Road connects Anamalai to other major cities and town of the state. Many state run buses connects it to Chennai and Coimbatore and many other cities of the state. Nearest airport is situated in Coimbatore which is 96 km away from Anaimalai. The air port is connected by domestic flight to Chennai and other major cities of India. Nearest railway station is also situated in Coimbatore which is connected to other major railway heads of the state.
Other details: Pongal is a major festival celebrated in Anamalai with great enthusiasm. The festival comes in the month of January.

Tourist places in Palampur,Himachal Pradesh


Palampur is a hill station in Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated in Kangra valley of Dauladhar ranges. It is famous for its tea and is known as tea capital of north-west India. Palghar is a town in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is located in Thane district of the state.
