Daund is a town in Pune district of Maharashtra state. It is a major railway junction which comes under Central Railway, Solapur Jn. Daund Railway Junction is situated on Solapur-Pune rail route and is connected by several trains to other parts of the state and the country. The town is just about 85 km away from the city of Pune. Siddhatek, a famous pilgrimage site of Maharashtra, lies just about 20 km away from the town. 

Siddhatek is known for its temple of Lord Ganesha, known as the Siddhivinayak Temple. Marwar Railway Junction is located in Pali district of Rajasthan state. It is managed by Ajmer Jn division of North Western Railway Zone. Marwar Jn is perched on Ajmer-Falna rail route and is served with many trains. Pali, the headquarters of Pali district, is just about 35 km away from Marwar Jn. There are several places of interest which can easily be explored from Marwar Jn. Jodhpur Jn serves to be nearby major railhead to Marwar Jn.

Situated on the bank of Bandi River, the town of Pali hosts several attractions. Marwar Jn has rail and road connections to it. Lakhotia Garden, Bangur Museum, Somnath Mandir and number of historic Baoris (wells with steps) are the main highlights of Pali. Bikaner-Bandra Spl, Ahmedabad-Lucknow Spl, Pune-Jodhpur Exp, Dadar-Ajmer Exp and many other trains stop at Marwar Jn. State highway no 61 also connects Marwar Jn to other parts of Rajasthan state, while the nearby major airbase to the junction  is Jodhpur Airport.

Godhra is the headquarter town of Panchmahal district in the state of Gujarat. It is a railway junction which comes under Vadodara Jn of Western Railway Zone. Godhra Railway Junction falls on Vadodara-Piplod rail route and is served with many trains which connect it many other parts of India.  Kansudhi and Kharsaliya are nearby railway stations to Godhra Jn. Vadodara Jn is the nearby major railhead to Godhra Jn.

Godhra Jn serves to be a major base from where one can easily explore several places of attraction situated around it. The historical city of Champaner is just about 45 km away from Godhra. Visited by number tourists especially history buffs, Champaner is an important archeological site in the state. Perched at an altitude of about 822 m, Pavagadh is a hill station located just about 50 km away from Godhra Jn. This beautiful place is also famous for its Mahakali Temple which draws thousands of devotees from different parts of Gujarat state.

There are several trains which pass through Godhra Railway Junction. Patna-Ahmedabad Exp, Somnath-Jabalplur Exp, Jammu Tavi-Happa (GJ) Exp, Jamnagar-Jammu Tavi Exp, and Mumbai Central- Amritsar Exp are some of the trains which run through Godhra Jn. Godhra is also linked by national highway no 59 and several other highways to other parts of the state. Vadodara (85 km) serves to be the closest airbase to Godhra Jn.

Miraj Junction is a major railway junction located at Miraj in the Sangli district of Maharashtra. The station is connected to Pune, Kurduwadi, Belgaum, and Goa. Passenger trains running from Kolhapur to Solapur run through Miraj now. Miraj station comes under the jurisdiction of the Indian Central Railways.  Station code of Miraj is MRJ.

Miraj town hosts historical monuments. Nearby tourist places are Kolhapur Laxmi temple, Dajipur wildlife sanctuary, Mandwa, Bijapur, and Pandharapur. About 50 trains stop at this junction connecting Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Hyderabad, Ahmadabad, Nagpur, Ernakulum, Mysore, Dhanabad, Bangalore, Gorakhpur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, and Tirupati. Connecting trains are: Mahalaxmi Express, Chalukya Express, Sahyadri Express, Koyna Express, Sharavati Express, Hazrath Nizamuddin Goa Express, Ahmadabad Express, Sampark Kranthi, Swarna Jayanthi, Gorakhpur LTT Express, Gandhidham Express, Jodhpur Express and Rayalseema Express.

Belgaum culture is largely influenced by the Marathi and Kannada people as it is inhabited by both of these communities. Belgaum is the fine blend of culture of Marathi and Kannada people. Owing to its proximity to Goa and Maharashtra, Belgaum enjoys the cultural diversity. Marathi is the widely spoken language of Belgaum while Kannada is also spoken by many people there. In rural part of the Belgaum district people  are found wearing a turban with long tailpiece in the rear while their women folk are seen wearing sari with the lower half of it worn like a dhoti. People in urban part of the district have changed with the time and have adopted themselves to modern style of dressing and living. A great influence of both Marathi and Kannada can be seen on cultures and traditional customs of Belgaum. Significance of Rath Yatra

Rath Yatra is big event and festival celebrated at Puri in the state of Orissa, India. The festival is related with the Lord Jagannath. It celebrates the occasion of the journey of three siblings namely Lord Jagannath, lord Balaram and Subhdra to their aunt’s temple, Gudicha temple for nine days after then the return journey of the deities to the main temple is known as the 'Bahuda Yatra'.

  To commemorate the incidence people organize the Rath Yatra event in which three large beautifully decorated chariots resembling three temples are drawn by the huge number of devotees. The chariot / Ratha of Lord Jagannath known as 'Nandighosha', chariot of Goddess Subhadra named Darpadalana and the Ratha of Lord Balabhadra named Taladhwaja Rath Yatra is organized in the months of June- July at the temple of lord Jagannath in Puri.

The festival of Rath Yatra draws thousands of devotees from all parts of the India and even from abroad to witness the majestic event of Raths (chariots) being drawn by thousands of devotees.  Devotees come here with their holy wish of pulling the chariots as the act is supposed to be pious one. The procession starts from the Jagannath temple with drums, trumpets, tambourines etc. These 40 to 50 feet high chariots pulled by thousands of devotes is a really magnificent view witnessed by the millions of people gathered there on the occasion.


Three chariots pulled in the procession are built a new every year. These chariots are made of woods of particular trees like Dhausa, Phassi etc. The event of Rath Yatra is so huge that some Indian and foreign T V channels are lured to telecast the event. However witnessing the holy Rath Yatra in person gives you the divine satisfaction which is difficult to find elsewhere.
