 Coimbatore, the second largest city of Tamil Nadu, is a major tourist destination in the state. Also known as Kovai, the city of Coimbatore houses several places of attraction in and around it. The city is also famous for its several prominent places of worship. 

Marudhamalai Hill Temple

Located just 15 km from the heart of Coimbatore city, Marudhamalai Hill temple is a religious significance place in the region. It is perched on the top of a 500 feet high hill of western Ghat.  Beautifully set amidst lush green surroundings, Marudhamalai Hill witnesses cool and pleasant climate most time of the year. The temple perched on the Marudhamalai Hill is dedicated to Lord Muruga. The place is dotted with varieties of vegetation with several medicinal herbs which are mainly used for making Ayurvedic medicine. 

Vellingiri Hill Temple

The temple is located just 40 km away from Coimbatore. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Vellingiri Hill Temple serves to be one of the most sacred places in the region. Abundant with the bounty of nature and blessed with pleasant environs, Vellingiri Hill is frequented by a large number of tourists and devotees. The place is also known for abundance of medicinal herbs.



Perur Siva Temple:   

The temple is an old one and is situated just 6 km west of Coimbatore city.  Built by Karikala Cholan, the temple is perched on the banks of Noyyal River. The outer part of the temples was constructed during the 17th century, while the inner structure of the temple is several centuries old. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The main deity of the temple is locally known as Patteeswara.

Kovai Kutrulam Falls


This gorgeous waterfall mesmerizes one and all with its sheer magnificent view. Located about 37 km away from Coimbatore, Kovai Kutrulam waterfall is a major tourist attraction of the region. Set amid the lush green surroundings, the waterfall is an idea picnic spot near Coimbatore. Monkey Falls, Vydehi Falls, Siruvani Falls and Dam are other much visited attractions situated around the city of Coimbatore.

By Air:
Coimbatore International Airport is nearest airport located at distance of apporox. 13 km from city. You can hire a cab in advance or take a auto at airport to reach Coimbatore city.

By Train:

Coimbatore has one of the major and second largest railway station in south India. So the city is well connected by railway to the other major cities of the country.

By Road:
Three National Highways and six major arterial roads connects Coimbatore to all major cities near state.
