Summer Destinations To Visit in India With Family and Friends

 Summer season has been started and also the planning of vacations for children also started.  If you really getting bored and need some relief from this hectic time and need some outing then lets plan a trip with us. 

Though the season comes with plenty of options to plan your vacation but there is no better time to go to cool places.

We are jot down some places here where you can plan your vacation to beat the heat this summer.


Kashmir:

Not less than heaven! set amidst the snow-clad mountains, tall Chinar trees, green valleys and beautiful climate make Kashmir a great place for tourists. Who one goes here would definitely suggest to visit it once in life time.

Places to visit in Kashmir: Dal lake, housboat stay, Nisht bagh, Shalimar bagh, Pahalgam, Gondola Ride in Gulmarg, Aru Valley and Betaab Valley, Sonmarg.


Dalhousie:

The list of places to visit in India in the month of April is incomplete if you have not included Dalhousie. It's the scenic town nestled in Himalaya. Apart from the beautiful fauna one can enjoy trekking, paragliding here.

Places to visit in Dalhousie :  Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary, Sach Pass, Panchpula, St. John’s Church and St. Francis Church.

Ganggal airport is the nearest airport to reach here where as you can reach at Pathankot railway station if you are travelling by train. From there you can take a cab to reach Dalhousie. 


Manali:

It is one the destination that should not missed from the list. Situated at an altitude of 2050 meters from sea level and nestled in the lap of Kullu valley is the best option for you if you are planning a trip this summer season in north India. 

Along with sightseeing you can do skiing, hiking, mountaineering, paragliding, rafting, trekking, kayaking, and mountain biking here.

Attractions in Manali:  Solang Valley, Hadimba temple, Manu temple, mall road for shopping and lip smacking food, Van vihar, Tibetan Monasteries. If you want to go out from Manali then there are other popular routes/places you can go from Manali. 

Kullu Manali airport is the nearest airport in Bhuntar and Ambala Cantt is the nearest railhead to reach Manali.  After arrival here you can hire a cab to go Manali or get around.

Gangtok:

The capital city of Sikkim is blessed with innumerable attractions, variety of cuisines and authentic folk culture. This town should be in your top of travel wish list.

There are several exquisite spots you can explore in Gangatok like Hanuman Tok, Saramsa Garden, Rumtek Monastery, Enchey Monastery, Phodong Monastery, Do Drul Chorton Tashi View Point, The Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, MG Marg (Walk along the streets, eateries shops, etc)

Approx. 124km away from Gangatok, Bagdogra is the nearest airport and Darjeeling is the nearest railway station. 

Kasauli :

How to reach Kasuali : Chandigarh International Airport is the nearest airport and Kalka railway station is the nearest rail-head to Kasauli. As most of the tourist preferred to take cab from Chandigarh airport.


Pachmarhi:

It is famous hill station in Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh state. It can be a perfect summer destination for families and group of friends. Pachmarhi also known as "Queen of Satpura". Town has a mythological significance connect. 
Places of attraction in Pachmarhi: Apsara vihar, Jata Shankar caves, Pandava Caves, Dhupgarh, Handi Khoh, Jata Shankar Cave, Bison Lodge Museum, The Satpura National Park are few of places to visit when you are in Pachmarhi.

How to reach Pachmarhi : Bhopal and Jabalpur airport are nearest to Pachmarhi where as the Pipariya railway station is the nearest railway station. Either you can take cab from Jabalpur or a cab from Bhopal to reach to Panchmarhi.

Nainital :

Blessed with great treasure of Nature, Nainital is the perfect tourist destination to have a summer vacation. The temperature in the summer season varies from 10 degree Celsius to 28 degree Celsius. It means you can enjoy your holiday to the fullest. 
Located in Uttarakhand state,  Naintal was the summer capital of British India's United Provinces.

Apart from tourist attraction you can do shopping, adventure and fun filled activities here like rock climbing, trekking and rope way ride.

Khajjiar :

Now your dream of going to Switzerland can be fulfilled because India has such place which is not lesser than the Switzerland from any of aspect.  Khajjiar, situated in the lap of Himalayan mountains and just 26 kms away from beautiful Dalhousie is small hill station which is also known as “Mini Switzerland of India” because the climate and forests of the place is very similar to Switzerland.  Here you will also seen an interesting think that there is a signboard installed which showing Khajjiar's distance from the Swiss capital Berne -6194 km.
  
Thought March to June is the best time to visit Khajjiar , you can also visit this place in Monsoon too.

Ooty:

Ooty is anther picturesque destination to visit this April. It is situated amidst the beautiful hills which is makes it a peaceful vacation place. It has everything that will make your tour enjoyable. You can add Rajasthan in your travel bucket list when you are planning your summer vacation because the state has a hill station situated at an elevation of 1,220 meters (4000 ft) in the Aravalli ranges
It has pleasant climate and surrounded with lush greenery, scenic lake.

Mcleod Ganj is a famous tourist destination and beautiful town situated in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. It is also known as "Little Lhasa".

It is a paradise for the nature lover and a perfect place for relaxing holidays in summer season. You can visit this place even in winter to witness the snow fall. The best time to visit this place is from September to June.

Tourist can reach this place via road, rail and flight. Either you can reach Mcleodganj from Delhi or from Dharmashala, Dehradun and Delhi by cab or bus. Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi is the nearest airport and Pathankot junction is the nearest railway station if you are travelling by train.

Awesome Places to Visit Near Bhubaneswar, Odisha

  

  Bhubaneswar is known as 'City of Temples' and is surrounded by many beautiful tourist places from forts, sanctuaries, waterfalls to beaches. Billions of tourist from the globe come here to witness the city's glory and exquisite attractions. If you are planning to visit the town then here is a quick guide and list for You where you can spend your weekend and make it enjoyable.


Puri :

 As many of us know that Puri is famous sacred place known for Shri Lord Jagannath's temple and devotees from the globe throng here to participate in annually held 'Rath Yatra'. Beside this Puri is also famous for many other temples, beautiful sandy beaches such as Puri beach, Swargadwar beach, Balighai beach, Beleswar beach, and Golden beach. You can plan your visit to Puri throughout the year as the climate of the town is quite pleasant. 


Reaching to Puri is easy by air, road and railway. Biju Patnaik airport is the nearest airport located at Bhubaneswar whereas nearest railway station is Puri.


Udaygiri:

 These are 26 rock-cut caves located at 7.2 km from Bhubneswar and one of the amazing tourist place to be visited. Out of 26 caves one cave is dedicated to Jainism and rest to Hinduism. They are the only site that can be verifiable associated with a Gupta period monarch from its inscriptions.


Konark:

  A beautiful place for its architectural design of temples. It is located around 66 km from Bhubneswar. Konark is famous for Sun Temple constructed in 13th century and it is now a world heritage site.

Sun temple is dedicated to the God Sun/Surya and it is said that the Sun Temple was built in such a way that the first rays of the sun fall directly on the place of worship and the idol of God. This temple rests on 24 wheels which are beautifully carved. It has 12 wheels on each side. Four of these wheels are still used as solarium to tell the time. 

The temple of Konark is unique in itself, but similar chariot temples are built in places like Hampi and Mahabalipuram. Thousands of people visit the Sun Temple of Konark every year. The Konark Festival, celebrated here every year, has great cultural significance.


Gopalpur:

It is a coastal town located in Odisha. Being a coastal town it is famous for sea tourism and water sports like wind surfing, scuba diving, rowing, water scooter and more. Best time to visit the Gopalpur is October to March. 

Bhubaneswar airport is the nearest airport to reach Gopalpur. If you are planning to reach here by train then Berhampur is the nearest railway station. 


Keonjhar :

Ratnagiri:

 Ratnagiri is approximately 100 km away from the Bhubaneswar. It is an ancient Buddhist monastery and a part of the Orissa Buddhist Circuit. The site is very close to Udaygiri and it was  discovered after an excavation 1960. The site has beautiful carved doorway, spacious open courtyard, cells and verandah facing the courtyard.  

Nearest airport to reach Ratnagiri is Bhubaneswar where as Jaipur road and Bhubaneswar railway station are the nearest rail-head. You can easily plan your trip with a comfortable cab or taxi from Bhubaneswar or Kolkata




AERO India - One Of The Largest Air Show in The World

      Asia's largest air show and aviation exhibition, AERO celebrating its 13th edition with pride this year in Bengaluru since its inception. This biannual show lasts around three days and invites various companies aircraft manufacturers, national and international exhibitors over 400.  Since its inception in 1996, this air show has emerged as on of the vital event in aviation exhibitions.

 

The show is hosted by Ministry of Defence’s Defence Exhibition Organization. It's great business opportunities for manufacturers from aerospace and aviation industry to demonstrate their product. Citizens can visit the show and this year amidst the Covid19 pandemic situation all visitors have to follow few safety precautionary protocol along with carrying negative COVID-19 negative report taken 72 hours prior exhibition day. Before kindly confirm the show timings on Aero India's official website.

 

Ticket price for Aero India :

The tickets will be availble in two category(Business & ADVA) and it will be issued on limited first come first serve basis.

Business category: Price will be Rs.5000 for Indian nationals and $150 for foreign national for full day and for half day it will be Rs. 2500 and $75 for Indians and foreign nationals respectively.


ADVA: For other visitors visiting price will be Rs 1,000 for Indians and $40 for foreign nationals and for hafd day it will be Rs 500 and $20 for Indians and foreign nationals respectively.

Go To Jail ! Famous Yerwada Jail is open for tourist

 




Many of you might have visited the sandy beautiful beaches, national forests and parks, wildlife sanctuaries, historical forts and many more tourist destinations and now might be planning and searching for new places to visit which are unique? Then you might like the idea of “jail tourism” Yes, you read it right because from 26th, January 2021 Maharashtra government started jail tourism in Pune's Yerawada jail. Many of us are curious and wondered about what prisoner's life in a  jail is like, right? Well, if you are interested in prison or jail tourism then now you can do so without committing a crime!  It’s something unique, isn’t it ?

The initiative has been launched by the Maharashtra state government with an aim to help students, all history enthusiasts and citizens to experience and be aware of our history at a nominal fee. 


Entry Fee for Yerwada Jail Tourism :


Fee for School student : Rs. 5
Fee for collegians : Rs. 10
Fee for general tourist : Rs. 50


Yerwada jail, built by British in between 1865 to 1871 is considered as one of the largest prisons in south Asia which is spread across 500 acres. Only certain parts in the jail where freedom fighters stayed will be open for tourists to visit. 

This jail has significant historical value in the Indian Independence movement like “Pune Pact” that took place in jail premises between 'Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar' and 'Mahatma Gandhi' on September 24, 1932 and many freedom fighters including Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Nehru, Lokmanya Tilak, Vallabhbhai Sardar Patel, Sarojini Naidu and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose had been imprisoned in this jail under the british rule, also in 1899, the Chapekar brothers were hanged in Yerwada Jail.


How to Book Jail Tourism :


For now due to the pandemic situation only 50 visitors will be allowed daily. Those tourists who are interested to visit will be required to submit an application form to the Superintendent of Yerwada Jail on email or in person at the jail seven days before their visit.

Kaziranga National Park, Assam

 



 Located in the heart of Aasam and a World Heritage site is popular for the two-thirds of the world’s great one-horned rhinoceroses as well as Elephants, tigers,  panthers and various types of bird species. Kaziranga National park,

This park It is a favourite destination for nature and wildlife fanatics. 

There are many beliefs about the origin of the place name, it was renamed the "Kaziranga Wildlife Sanctuary" in 1950 by P. D. Stracey, the forest conservationist. Kaziranga park has been declared as a world heritage site in 1985 by UNESCO for its unique natural environment. The park is circumscribed by the Brahmaputra river and the park extends over a geographical area of 430 sq km.  

The park is divided into the four tourism ranges or zones, Western Range (Bagori), Central Range (Kohora), Burapahar Range, Eastern Range(Agaratoli)  

Elephant safaris and Jeep safari is the only way to explore and unfold the vigor and splendor of Kaziranga. Hiking is not allowed in the area to avoid unexpected encounter with large, dangerous wild animals.

Aside from the home to many spices, Kaziranga also has a varied ecosystem and mountains. Taking a wildlife safari will give ample opportunity to take glimpse of some of big animals.


Best time to visit :

The park is crowded between November to April of every year. Now it has reopened for tourist from 21st Oct. after COVID-19 lockdown.

 

Getting to Kaziranga :

By Air : 

Jorhat Airport is nearest airports which is 105 kms away. It is connected to Kolkata by good number of daily flights. At the airport you can hire a cab prior to your arrival to visit Kaziranga national park or can reach to bus stand which is approx. 23 km from there. 

By Railway : 

Furkating is the nearest railway station to Kaziranga park. It is well connected to major town such as Guwahati, Kolkata, Delhi. 

 By Road: 

NH37 will lead you to Kaziranga park. It has good connectivity with Guwahati, Tezpur, Jorhat, Nagaon, Golaghat, Dimapur, Tinisukia and Sivasagar. Either you can take a taxi from these cities or local transport services to reach park.
