Tourist Places in Nanjangud, Karnataka
Nanjangud is a temple town situated in Indian state of Karnataka. The town is located in Mysore district of the state. Nanjangud is popular for its many beautiful temples. It visited by both tourists and devotees throughout the year. Many of the temples are situated along the river of Kabini. The river is also known as Kapila. The town is just 23 km away from the city of Mysore. Structure and architecture of the temple are beautiful and they attract many tourists along with devotees. The temple of Lord Srikanteshwara is one of the oldest ones in the country. The temple is located on the bank of Kabini River. Shiv Linga in the temple is believed to be established by sage named Gauthama who had lived there for some time. The temple is in Dravidian style of architecture and contains many deities like Goddess Parvati (wife of Lord Shiva), Lord Nanjundeshwara and Lord Vishnu with Sridevi & Bhudevi

Temperature of the region ranges from 32°c to 40°c in summer while it is between 22°c to 32°c in winter. October to March is the best time to visit Nanjangud.

Khandala is a popular hill station located in Western Ghat of the state of Maharashtra, India. Duke’s Nose is another place of interest near Khandala. This cliff resembles the pointed nose of Duke Wellington after whom the place is named. It is also called as Nagphani as it looks like the hood of Nag.

Shivaji Park is another beautiful place to visit. It was a play ground earlier then it was turned into the garden in 1956. It houses a statue of Shivaji Maharaja.Lohgad Darshan is small beautiful park with many toys for children’s amusement. There is a statue of Vir Savarkar, a great freedom fighter.
