 Panchgani, the place of five hills as it literally means, is a popular hill station in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is situated in Satara district of the state. It was the summer resort of the British. They also planted there western plants like Poinsettia and silver oak. Now we can see these trees there in large number. Panchgani is located at the altitude of 1334 m and is popular tourist spot in India. The air in the region is believed to contain more oxygen compared to other  region.  Many people see it as rejuvenating place for both mind and body. September to May is the best time to visit Panchgani.

There are many place of tourist attraction in and around Panchgani.

Rajpuri Caves :

Rajpuri Caves is one of them. Caves are of religious significance and have many ponds in its surrounding. It is believed by pilgrims that taking a dip in the ponds one gets cured of almost all diseases.  Temple of Lord Kartikeya is the prominent attraction near the caves. The temple is made of the sand of the caves.

 

Parsi Point :

Parsi Point is famous picnic spot in Panchgani. It is situated on the way to Mahabaleshwar. One can see from the picturesque views of nearby Krishna valley and Dhom Dam.



Sydney point :

Sydney point is another tourist spot near Parsi Point. These points in Panchgani are famous for its beautiful surrounding nature. The place has calm and cool ambience and is an ideal one to spend some time.






Serbaug :

 Serbaug is another interesting place you can visit in Panchgani. It is a beautifully carved garden offering tourist to have a quality time with their families. It has children’s park and beautiful rose garden. One can also see many species of birds there.



You can also visit Tableland in Panchgani. It is the second longest mountain plateau in Asia. You can see the amazing views of Panchgani hill station itself and other places like Rajpuri Caves and Devil’s Kitchen.
Wai is small town near Panchgani and on the way to it there are seven majestic Ghats. Many temples are located on these Ghats. It has also many lakes and beautiful natural surroundings. Panchgani also offers many places for adventure activities like Paragliding

How to get there:
By Train:
Pune railway station is the nearest rail head to Panchgani. Railway station is about 100 km from it and is well connected to many cities and towns of the Maharashtra state.

By Air: 
Pune also serves as closest airbase to Panchgani and is well linked to other major cities of the country.

By Road:
Buses and private luxury buses are available from other cities and towns of the state. You can also hire a car or taxi to reach here.

Tourist Places in Wayanad,Kerala

 Wayanad is beautiful hill town in Indian state of Kerala. It is main place of district Wayanad district. It situated amid the mist-clad mountain, dense forests and lush green plantation. The name Wayanad is derived from the word Vayal Nadu. Vayal literally means Paddy and Nadu means land thus indicating the large fields of paddy cultivation in Wayanad. Tea, vanilla, coffee, Cardamom, pepper etc are some cash crops of the region which earn the good revenue for the state. There are many places of interest in and around Wayanad.

Edakkal cave :
Edakkal cave is a cleft of about 96 feet in length and 23 feet in breadth. The depth of cleft is about 30 feet and gives it the appearance of a cave to the observer. There are some carvings on the rock which depicts the figures of human and animals.

Kuruva Dweep :
Kuruva Dweep is an Island situated on one of the tributaries of Kabini River. Kuruva Dweep is a perfect picnic spot with serene environs and lush green surrounding. Rare species of birds, herbs and orchids are found there in large number.


Meenmutty Falls :
Meenmutty Falls is another place of attraction in Wayanad district. Gurgling down of water from the height of 300 m is quite fascinating. This mesmerizing waterfall is of three tiers. 2 km of trek takes you to the waterfall but sight of the waterfall rejuvenates you. Sochipara fall is another beautiful waterfall located in the district of Wayanad.





Banasura Sagar Dam, Pookot Lake, Tholpetty Wild life sanctuary, Neelimala viewpoint etc are other places interest you can visit in Wayanad. Wayanad also offers many trekking trails to the adventurous tourists. Trekking here is also the best way to explore beautiful natural surroundings.
Wayanad has pleasant weather throughout the year. The best time to visit it is from October to May though it can be visited any time of the year.
Many state run buses are available to reach Wayanad from Kozhikode, Trivandrum, Bangalore, Chennai, Mangalore and other cities and towns of the Kerala and other nearby states. Kozhikode serves as the nearest railhead to Wayanad. The railway station is just 110 km away from Wayanad and is well connected to other cities and towns of the country. Tourist Places in Srisailam

Srisailam, known for its many ancient temples, is a town in Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is situated on the banks of Krishna River. The town comes under Kurnool district of the state.

The temple of Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna :
The temple of Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna is the most important temple in the region. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas (most sacred places devoted lord Shiva).

Bhramaramba Devi Temple :
Bhramaramba Devi Temple is another famous temple in Srisailam. The temple is situated on Nallamala hill and is dedicated to the Goddess of Parvati, consort of Lord Shiva. The Hathakesvara Temple, Sakshi Ganpati temple and ShiKareshawara temple are some of many other temples to be seen in Srisailam.
Apart from the temples Srisailam also house other places of interest to be seen in and around it.  

Srisailam Sanctuary :
Visit Srisailam Sanctuary to watch various animals in their natural habitat and experience breathtaking wildlife. The sanctuary is famous for tiger as it is one of the largest tiger reserves in India. Sloth dear, leopard, jungle cat, hyena, deer, pangolin and palm civet are other animals you can see here. The Reserve was renamed as Rajiv Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary in 1992.

Srisailam Dam :
Take some time out to visit the Srisailam Dam. This 512 m long dam is constructed on the river of Krishna. The dam is situated amid the picturesque nature.

Akkamahadevi Cave :
Akkamahadevi Cave is another place you can visit in Srisailam.

Reach Srisailam by state run bus or other private vehicles like car and luxury bus from Hyderabad and other cities and town of the state. Markapur serves as the closest railhead to Srisailam and is well connected to other parts of the state. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is nearest airbase to Srisailam. It about 232 km away and is well linked to other major cities of India and other countries.

Tourist Places in Panhala

Panhala is a popular hill station in the state of Maharashtra, India. The hill town is located in Kolhapur district of the state. It is situated at the altitude of 3177 ft and is adorned with beautiful nature. Panhala has rich heritage of history and many ancient monuments and forts. Though the hill station is small one, it mesmerizes the tourists. It is often visited by many tourists throughout the year.
Panhala Fort :
Panhala Fort is a major attraction of the tourist in Panhala. The fort is regarded as one of the strongest forts in the country. This historic fort was built by king Raja Bhoj in 12th century. The fort is spread over a wide area and poses an attractive look. It is believed that Maratha King Chhatrapati Shivaji spent his most of precious time here. The fort is visited by thousands of tourists throughout the year.

Sajja Kothi :
You can also visit Sajja Kothi which is another place of attraction located at Panhala. It is a five-storied structure. It was built in 1008 AD.  It is built in Mughal architecture of style. It is the same place where great Shivaji used to plan his courageous activities. Sajja Kothi is surrounded by beautiful lush greenery.


Teen Darvaza :
Teen Darvaza is another place of interest in Panhala. It literally means three doors. It is a part of the Panhala Fort. These are three big consecutive door gates on western wall of the fort. There is a well located at the corner of Teen Darvaza. It is said that through this well the message was being conveyed to the enemies. 


Jyotiba temple :
Jyotiba temple is place of worship located near the Panhala. It is situated at the altitude of 3124 ft. According to mythology it is believed that three gods Lord Brahma, Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu combined together in one form, known as Jyotiba to kill the demon Ratnasur. The temple is visited many devotees from across the state.



Botanical Garden :
Do not miss the Botanical Garden if you are here. It is the place which offers cool and calm ambience. Wide green lawns and tall trees make this place a popular picnic spot. Sunset Point is another place of attraction you can visit. It is situated at the northern end of the famous Panhala fort. It offers the tourists fascinating views of sunset. 

Kolhapur railway station serves as the nearest rail head to Panhala. It is just 30 km away from the hill town. The railway station is well connected by many trains to other cities and towns of the state. Kolhapur also serves as the closest airbase to Panhala. Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport of Mumbai is the nearest international airport to it. Tourist Places in Saputara, Gujarat

Saputara is a beautiful hill station in the state of Gujarat, India. It is located in the Dang forest and comes under the Dang district of the state. Saputara, abode of serpents as it literally means, is perched at the altitude of 1000 m on Sahyadari mountain range. The hill town is situated on the   border of Maharashtra and Gujarat. It has calm and cool ambience throughout the year. Temperature of the hill station in summer does not exceed 28 degree Celsius.

Vansda National Park :
Vansda National Park near Saputara is spread over an area of 24 sq km. Despite of its small size the park is home to tiger, leopard, rusty spotted cat, giant squirrel, Pangolin, four-horned antelope and other various animals. Permission has to be taken from Chief Wild life Warden at Ahwa before visiting the National Park. Purna Sanctuary is another wild life area to be seen near Saputara.


Saputara Lake :

Saputara Lake is a beautiful spot in Saputara. The lake is perfect picnic spot. It is surrounded by many fun facilities like play ground and a park. One can also enjoy here the boating experience in the lake.


Sun rise point :
Sun rise point near Saputara is another interesting place you can visit. It offers the tourists fascinating views of sun rise while sunset point in Saputara present majestic views of Dang Forest along with amazing views of sun set.


Step Garden :
Visit the Step Garden in Saputara. The garden is set up in well organized steps with various plants and flower plots.  It is nice picnic spot and is visited by many tourists.
