Tourist places in Palampur,Himachal Pradesh


Palampur is a hill station in Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated in Kangra valley of Dauladhar ranges. It is famous for its tea and is known as tea capital of north-west India. It is abundant with water and its name is also derived from the word ‘Pulum’ which means lots of water. A number of streams flowing down from the surrounding mountains combined with lush greenery give Palampur a beautiful look. Palampur has everything which a typical hill station offers to tourists. With a sweet name of Palampur, the hill town offers visitors romantic, calm cool and curative ambience.

Neugal Khad :

Neugal Khad is a major picnic spot near Palampur. It is just 2 km away from the town. It has 300 m wide stream which fascinates the visitors. It is an ideal spot to spend holyday. Neugal Khad is also known as Bundla Chasm.

Tea garden :

Tea garden is a prominent place of tourist attractionin Palampur,Himachal Pradesh. Lush green tea garden stretched on a wide area make the visitors spellbound. Apart from the beauty of the tea garden of Palampur, you can also get to see the tea making process at Palampur Tea Cooperative.

Dhauladhar Nature Park :

How to get there

By train- 

Railway station of Maranda serves the nearest railhead to Palampur. It is just 2 km away from the hill town.  The railway station is well linked to other parts of the Himachal Pradesh state and the country. 

By road-

Many state run buses connect it to other nearby cities like Mandi, Pathankot, and Dharamshala etc. Dharamshala is just 25km away from it.  You can rent a car almost from all major cities to reach here.

By Air-

Tourist places in Amboli,Maharashtra


Situated at Sahyadri Hills, Amboli is one of the most popular hill stations of the state of Maharashtra. The hill station is known for many fascinating waterfalls, beautiful natural sights and fresh air. The native language of the region is Marathi and Hindi is also widely spoken in the region. Amboli is situated at the altitude of 690 m and has pleasant weather throughout year. Its temperature ranges from 22 to 40c in summer and from 12 to 33c in winter. The best time to visit Amboli is from October to March.

Nangartas Fall : 


which is just 10 km away from Amboli and it is located in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. Though the water fall is small one but it draws attractions of many tourists.

Madhavgarh Fort : 

is a historical important place of Amboli. It was four times bigger than the famous Shaniwarwada of Pune, Maharashtra. Though the fort is now in its ruins state, it offers tourist beautiful views of nearby forest including wonderful view of Konkan and Arabian Sea.

Shiva temple : 

is religious important place of Amboli. The temple is old one and it is believed that the person who built this temple was the manifestation of Lord Shiva. Tourist places in Lonavala, Maharashtra


Lonavala is a city and hill station in Indian state of Maharashtra. Lonavala is situated in the district of Pune and is 64 km away from it.  It is elevated at the height of 625m and is popular tourist spot in entire Maharashtra. Marathi is widely spoken language in the region while Hindi is also spoken by some. It has pleasant climate throughout the year and can be visited any time of the year.

Ryewood Park :- 

It is another place of interest. The park is abundant with tall trees. It also houses a Shiva temple nearby.
Valvan dam is another place to visit near Lonavala. It is just 2km away from the town. The dam has at its foot a beautiful garden.

Duke’s Nose :-

   It is a popular cliff near Lonavala. The cliff is named after Due wellington whose nose resemble the popular cliff.

Lonavla Lake :-


is a fascinating place which offers wonderful surrounding sceneries the lake is just 1.5 km from the town.

 It divides the basins of the Indrayani and Pavna and is situated on a side range of the Sahyadris.Lohgarh is popular for trekking.A panoramic view of the Pawna dam can be seen from the fort. There are a number of local trains operating between Lonavla and Pune.
Karla Caves, Lion’s Point, Tungarli Lake, Shooting Point and wax museum are some of the other place of attraction to be seen in Lonavala.
There are many hotels and resorts which provide accommodation facilities to the tourists.

Lonavala is famous for its Chikkis. Many people are seen thronging to stores to purchase Chikkis, Fudges and other savories.

How to get Lonavala:  


Road and rail connects it to other parts of the state and the country. Lonavala is situated on Pune-Mumbai express way and hence connected well to Pune Mumbai and other cities and towns of the state. Lonavala has its own railway station which well linked to Pune and other cities of the state. Closest airport is Pune Airport which well connected by several flights to major cities of the country.  You can book a taxi or cab from Pune airport to reach city center.

Tourist places in Ranikhet, Uttarakhand


Situated at the altitude of 1829 m, Ranikhet is popular hill station in Indian state of Uttarakhand. The hill station lies in Almora district of the state. It is adorned with beauty of nature and has calm and cool ambience. Ranikhet is also a cantonment area and houses Kumaon and Naga regiments of India. A military hospital is also situated there. World famous Chaubatia:
It is another place to be seen near Ranikhet. It is known for its wide orchards of delicious apples, peaches, plums and Apricots. Chaubatia has grown in to popular picnic spot over the years as it an ideal place to explore surrounding nature. One can also see from here the beautiful views of snow covered Himalayan Mountains.



Jhula Devi temple:
It is situated near Ranikhet. It is built in 8th century and is dedicated to goddess Durga. The temple has large cluster of bells the sound of which can be heard from a long distance. The temple situated in serene environment and is visited by many devotees and tourists as well.




Mankameshwar temple:
It is another important place of worship in Ranikhet. It is located Pithoragarh near Ranikhet. The temple is built by Kumaon regiment of India. It is often visited by a good number of devotees and people related with defense.




Dwarahat near Ranikhet is small town and houses many ancient temples. Here you can visit Shakti Devi temple and the temple of Naithana Devi. Majhkhali is another place of interest situated near Ranikhet. It fascinates the tourists with its imposing natural beauty. The place is gifted with hilly terrains, calm and cool ambience and beautiful natural surroundings.
