Trimbakeshwar is a famous ancient pilgrimage center in India. It is situated in Nasik district of the state of Maharashtra. Trimbakeshwar is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas (most sacred places devoted to Lord Shiva). The Linga in the temple has three faced structured containing the faces of Tridev Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. Trimbakeshwar town is situated on the banks of Godavari River. Pilgrims visiting Trimbakeshwar also take bath in the river. It is believed by the Hindus that visiting Trimbakeshwar one gets salvation. Trimbakeshwar is regarded as one of most sacred places in India. It is regarded as the birth place of Lord Ganesha. Thousands of pilgrims from far and wide throng here on the occasion of Maha Shivratri.
Trimbakeshwar town is nestled with beautiful nature. It is located at the foothill of fascinating Brahmagiri Mountain. Lush green trees and beautiful environment surround the holy town of Trimbakeshwar. Serene environ and pleasant climate makes it hot tourist spot along with pilgrimage center.
Ram Lakshaman Tirth, Neel Parbat, Brahmagiri Mountain and Kedareshwar temple are other places of worship in Trimbakeshwar. Temperature of the of the region reaches up to 44 degree Celsius in summer, while it remains between 7 to 30 degree Celsius in winter.
How to reach :
Nasik is just 28 km from Trimbakeshwar and serves as the nearest railhead to it. Many state run buses and other private vehicles are available from Nasik and other cities and towns of the state. Nasik railway station is well connected to Mumbai, Aurangabad and other cities and towns of the state. Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is the closest airbase to Trimbakeshwar. The airport is well linked to other major cities of the country.
