Shapur
is a town in Junagadh district of Gujarat state. The region is also referred to
as Sorath. Sharpur is a railway junction which belongs to Bhavnagar division of
Western Railway Zone. It is perched on
Veraval- Junagadh rail route. SHH is the state code of Shapur Junction. Shapur
town is at a distance of just 12 km from Junagadh. It has both rail and road
connectivity to Junagadh. Other nearby places of interest located near Shapur Junction
are Sasan Gir, Girnar, Veraval and Chorwad.
There
are several trains which pass through Shapur Railway Junction and connect it
other cities of India. Rajkot- Veraval Passenger, Somnath-Rajkot Passenger,
Veraval-Rajkot Passenger, Rajkot-Somnath Passenger are some of the trains which
run through Shapur Junction. Shapur town is also connected by road to other
parts of Gujarat, while the nearby major airbase to the town is Porbandar
Airport.
