Raxaul junction
is located in the East Champaran district of Bihar on the Indo-Nepal
border. The railway station is situated along with the Birganj town on the
other side of the border. The station comes under the jurisdiction of East Central Railway at Samastipur.
Station code is RXL.
Raxaul is situated at about 196 km
from Patna, the capital city of Bihar. Nearest airport is at Gorakhpur. Nearby
tourist places are Motihari, Lauria Nandangarh, Kesaria, Buddha Stupa, and
Sitamrahi. Major trains passing through this junction are: Mithila Express
connecting Howrah, Sadhbhawana Express connecting Delhi, Satyagrah Express
connecting Delhi, Mumbai LTT –Raxaul Jansadharan express connecting Mumbai.
Many local trains run between Nakshattraganj and Raxaul.
