Ranaghat Junction is located in the Nadia district of WestBengal on the Eastern side of the Hoogly River. The junction is a major
stopping point on the Sealdah- Murshidabad railway line. The station comes
under the jurisdiction of Eastern
Railways. Station code is: RHA. Howrah
is the nearest major railway station.
The city of Ranaghat is known for
handloom industries. The city hosts a few buildings belonging to local
Zamindars which are of much attraction. The Pal Chaudhary building and the Dey
Chaudhary houses are important ones among them. Navadvipa, Mayapur, Kolkata and
Howrah are nearby places. The distance between Sealdah junction Ranaghat junctions
is about 74 km by train. Major trains running via this junction are: Bhagirathi
Express connecting Lalgoala and Sealdah, Hazarduari Express connecting Kolkataand Lalgola, KOAA BPC Express connecting Kolkata and Behrampore. Local trains
passing through this junction connect Lalgola, Shantipur, Bangaon, Majerhat, Gede,
Krishnagar.
