Pakala is a town in Chittoor district of Indian state of
Andhra Pradesh. It is a railway junction
which lies on Tirupati – Dharmavaram rail route. Pakala Railway Junction is
managed by Guntakal Junction division of South Central Railway Zone. Subramanyam
Swami Temple, located on the top of a hill near Pakala, is major pilgrimage
spot in Andhra Pradesh. Besides, Pakala is adorned with beautiful natural
surroundings offering several scenic locations and picnic spots.
There are several places of interest which are located around
Pakala Junction and can easily be accessed from it. Famous for number of temples and
historic structures, Chittoor is just about 30 km away from Pakala Junction which has
rail and road connections to it. Pakala Jn also lies just about 45 km away from
the famous pilgrimage site of Tirupati. Tirupati is known for the temple of
Balaji which serves to be one of the richest temples in the world. Tirupati witnesses thousands of devotees
thronging there throughout the year. Other places located near Pakala Jn are
Vellore and Srikalahasti.
Tirupati-Yashwantpur Exp, Tirupati – Secunderabad Exp,
Tirupati – Coimbatore Exp, Tirupati – Madurai Exp, Mumbai – Kanyakumari Exp,
Amravati – Tirupati Exp and many other trains stop at Pakala Railway Junction.
