Naupada Railway
Junction is located in Srikakulalm district of Andhra Pradesh state. Naupada Jn
belongs to Waltair of East Coast Railway Zone. The village of Naupada lies just
about 2 km away from Naupada Jn. The surrounding region is rich in Salt fields
and hence Naupada is often referred to as salt bowl of Andhra Pradesh. Naupada
Railway Junction is perched on Chennai-Howrah rail line. Rail line coming from
Gunupur in Orissa meets Chennai-Howrah rail line at Naupada Jn.
Berhampur, Gopalpur, Simhachalam and
Vijayanagaram are some of the prominent places which are also accessible from
Naupada Jn. Howrah-Chennai mail, Secunderabad- Bhubaneswar exp, Sainagar Shirdi
(MH)-Puri exp, Tirupati- Puri Exp, Howrah – Hyderabad exp and many other trains
stop at Naupada Railway Junction. Visakhapatnam serves to be the closest
airbase to Naupada Junction.
