Jind is a town
and the headquarters of Jind district in the Indian state of Haryana. Perched
in the center of Haryana state, the town of Jind is served with a major railway
Junction which comes under Delhi division of Northern Railway Zone. Jind
Railway Junction falls on Bhatinda-New Delhi rail line and is connected by
several trains to many other parts of the country.
Jind is home to numerous temples
which makes the town a pilgrimage spot in the state. The temple of Bhuteshvara
is the most prominent temple among other temples of Jind. Dedicated to Lord
Shiva, the temple is frequented by thousands of devotees round the year. It
also has a large water tank which is known as Rani Talab, a key attraction of
the place. Jayanti Devi Temple is another prominent temple of Jind. The temple
holds great religious significance for the people of Jind. Hansi, Panipat,
Karna Lake and Bhiwani are other places of interest which can easily be
accessible from Jind Jn.
There are several trains which pass
through Jind Railway Junction. Punjab Mail ( Mumbai CST- Firozpur CANT), Jammu
Tawi Exp (Jabalpur – Jammu Tawi), Daudhara Exp (Delhi – Pathankot) and Himsagar
Exp (Jammu Tawi – Kanyakumari Exp.) are some of the trains which run trough Jind
Jn. Nation highway no 71 (NH-71) and several state highways also connect the
town to other parts Haryana and rest of the country.
