Andal is a town in the Indian state of West Bengal. It comes under Durgapur subdivision of
Bardhaman district and is located near the bank of mighty Damodar River. Andal
has a railway junction which falls on Howrah-Delhi rail line. Andal Junction Railway Station belongs
to Asansol Railway Division of
Indian Eastern Railway. Andal also serves as the largest good yard in Asansol
division.
There are some places of
attractions which can be explored from Andal town. Durgapur is just 30 km away south east of Andal. It is famous planned city of west Bengal. It is major
industrial destination of the state. Garh Jungle,
Durgapur Barrage, Troika Park and Bhabani Pathaks Tilla
are some of the places of interest in Durgapur. Asansol is another major
tourist destination near Andal. It is just 30 away from Andal and is dotted
with several attractions like Maithan, Kalyanesvari temple, Nehru Parka, etc.
Ramnabagan Wildlife Sanctuary is located just about 60 away
from Andal and is famous among wildlife
adventure buff tourists. One can spot there numerous species of animals and
bird. Botanical Garden at Bolapur
and Gangajalghati Forest are other places worth a visit around the town of
Andal.
Andal Railway Station is connected by several trains to many
other parts of India. National Highway no 2 (NH-2) also connects the town to
other cities of West Bengal and other parts of the country.
