Achhnera is a town and municipality in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. Located in the district of Agra, Achhnera is major railway junction having rail connections to many parts of the country. It serves to be a base from where one can explore nearby places of tourist attraction.
Agra- the city of Taj Mahal is just about 30 km away from Achhnera. Built by Shah Jahan, Taj Mahal finds its place in the Seven Wonders of the World and happens to be the most visited tourist spot of India. Agra Fort, famous for housing many impressive palaces and gates is another historical attraction of Agra. The historic town of Fatehpur Sikri is located about 35 km away from Achhnera town. Established by the greatest Mughal emperor Akbar, the town of Fatehpur Sikri is home to many historic structures and monuments worth a visit. There are several trains from Achhnera to Agra.
Bharatpur is another place of interest to be visited near Achhnera. Located just about 30 km away from the town of Achhnera, Bharatpur is famous for its national park which serves to be home to numerous species of birds and animals. Bharatpur Palace, Laxman Mandir and Ganga Mandir are other places of interest in Bharatpur. Trains are available to Bharatpur from the town of Achhnera. Achhnera also lies on state highway connecting Agra and Bharatpur.
Achhnera Railway Junction is the nearest railway junction to Agra and is served with many trains connecting the town to Lucknow, Kolkata, Delhi, Jodhpur, Mumbai, Patna, Allahabad, Varanasi, Vijayawada, Kottayam, Bikaner, Ajmer, etc. Agra Civil Enclave Airport at Agra is the closes airbase to Achhnera. Besides, Achhnera is well connected by state highway no 33 (Agra road) to Agra, Bharatpur and thereby to many other major cities of the country.
