Ranchi Tourist attractions: Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand boasts of
having beautiful natural surroundings dotted with several waterfalls and lush
green sceneries. Endowed with rich nature, Ranchi and the surrounding region offer
number of natural locations.
Jonha falls: Also known as Gautamdhara, Jonha waterfalls is key
attraction near Ranchi. It is located just 40 km away from the heart of the
city and is must visit place which offers much needed break from tiresome daily
urban life. Perched amidst lush green sceneries, Jonha falls spellbinds the
tourists by its charming beauty. One has to climb down about 500 steps to
witness this marvel of nature. A rest house located near the falls contains a
Buddhist shrine housing an idol of Lord Buddha.
Dasams falls, Hudru falls and Panch Gagh falls are other gorgeous
waterfalls located around city of Ranchi.
Tagore Hill: It is a 300 ft high hill offering panoramic views of
surrounding region. Located near Albert Ekka Chowk in Ranchi, the hill is named
after famous poet and noble laureate, Ravindranath Tagore. The lush green
scenery and serene environ made the legendary poet like this hill. It is also
believed that Ravindranath Tagore did some of his literary works at this
tranquil place. The famous Ramakrishna Mission Ashram can also be visited at
the foothill.
Gonda Hill: Gonda Hill is another place of interest to be
visited around the city of Ranchi. Famous for its Kanke Dam Lake, Gonda Hill
serves to be a major picnic spot near Ranchi. This serene water reservoir is
beautifully perched on the top of hill and is considered to have originated
many years ago. Fascinating Rock Gardens located near Gonda Hill is another
noteworthy attraction of the place. 
Sun Temple: This elegant temple is built in architectural style
of a huge vehicle with eighteen wheels and seven horses. This impressive temple is perched amid
fascinating lush green lawns. A pond situated near the temple attracts the
tourists and devotes with its clean and serene water. The pond is much revered
by the devotees who believe that taking a dip in the water of this holy pond one
gets redemption from all the sins. Ranchi Lake, Birsa Zoological Park, Pahari
Mandir and Deer Park are other prominent attractions located in and around the
city of Ranchi.
