One of the most popular hill stations located in Western Ghat, Munnar is a hill town in the state of Kerala, India. The hill town falls in the district of Idukki district of the state. It was a summer resort of the British. It is also known for its vast tea plantation area. Munnar is popular tourist spot in the state. It is an ideal place for honeymoon couples. It is also one of the best places to spend holidays. Malayalam and Tamil are widely spoken language and Hindi and English are also spoken here by some.

Eravikulam National Park:-

Anamudi Peak:-

Anamudi Peak is another place of attraction near Munnar. It is just 13 km away from Munnar and is the highest peak in the state of Kerala.  Situated at the altitude of 1700 m, Mattupetty is another interesting place near Munnar. It is just about 13 km away from Munnar. It is famous for its lake and storage masonry dam. It also offers tourist boating experience and presents many beautiful views of surrounding hills and valleys.

Pallivasal :-

Pallivasal is place near Munnar where first Hydro-Electric project of Kerala is situated. It is known for its scenic beauties. It is one of most favored picnic spot in Kerala.

Chinnakanal:-

Chinnakanal is yet another place of attraction near Munnar. There are many fascinating waterfalls in Chinnakanal. It offers tourists magnificent views of mountains range of western Ghat.

Anayirangal :-

Anayirangal is famous for its dam. The dam is surrounded by beautiful tea plantation area and lush green forest. Rajmalai wildlife sanctuary is another sanctuary near Munnar. It is just 15km away from Munnar. Top Station.

Echo Point and Tea Museum are some of many other places of attraction to be seen in and around Munnar.

Munnar is well connected by road to other parts of the state. Many state run buses and other private vehicles connect it to Cochin, Aluva, Ernakulam and many other cities and town of the state.

By train : 

Aluva railway station serves the nearest railway head to Munnar. It is about 110 km away from Munnar and well linked to other many cities and towns of the state and the country.

By air : 

Cochin International Airport is nearest airbase to Munnar and is about 130 km from it. The airport is well linked to other major cities of India and other countries.
