Sabarmati Railway
Junction is located in Ahmedabad of Gujarat state. It belongs to Ahmedabad Junction
division of Western Railway Zone. Sabarmati Junction is perched on Ahmedabad-
Mehsana rail route and is served with number of trains. SBT is the station code
of Sabarmati Junction. Sabarmati is suburb area of Ahmedabad city. It hosts
several places of interest in and around it. It is mainly known for Sabarmati
Ashram. The Ashram is situated on the banks of Sabarmati River. It was one of
residences of Mahatma Gandhi who spent 12 years of his life there. It now
serves as a national monument maintained by Indian government.
There are many
prominent cities and places of interest near Sabarmati Junction. Gandhinagar,
Mehsana, Kheda and Anand are some of them. Sabarmati also has road connections
to other parts of Gujarat state. Ahmedabad airport is the closest airbase to
it. Trains passing through Sabarmati Railway Junction include Jodhpur-Pune Exp,
Jammu Tawi-Ahmedabad Exp, Delhi-Porbandar Exp, Mehsana-Ahmedabad DMU,
Ahmedabad- Somnath Intercity Exp, etc. Besides, there are number of passenger
trains which run through Sabarmati Junction.
