- Phillaur Railway Junction

Phillaur Junction is a part of the Northern Railways located in the
Jalandhar district of Punjab. Station
code is PHR. Phillaur has been a
major junction since the Pre-Independence period serving as a major timber
yard. The city is just 17 km away from Ludhiana by road and is on the banks of
the River Satlej. The Grand Trunk road
built by Sher Sha Suri passes through Phillaur. The old railway bridge still
survives connecting Ludhiana.
Nearby places are Nawanshehar,
Jalandhar, Kapurthala, and Hoshiarpur. Major trains passing through Phillaur
station are: Amritsar Express running between Dadar and Dhule, NDLSASR Express
between Amritsar and New Delhi, Jammu Tavi Express between Kolkata and Jammu, Gangasutlej
Express between Dhanbad and Ferozpur, Sarayuyamuna Express between Jaynagar
(Bihar) and Amritsar, Himsagar Express between Jammutavi and Kanyakumari, Andaman
express between Chennai and Jammutavi, Jammutavi Rourkela Express between Jammu
and Rourkela, Navyug Express between Jammutavi and Mangalore. Passenger trains
run through this junction connecting Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Lohian Khas, Amritsar
and Dharbhanga.
