Phagwara Junction is located in the Kapurthala district of Punjab. It is situated between Ludhiana and Jalandhar. Ludhiana is at about 40 km and Jalandhar is at 23 km from Phagwara by road. The town of Phagwara is well connected to Delhi and Amritsar by road and rail. It is an industrial city. The railway station at Phagwara comes under the jurisdiction of Northern Railways. Station code is PGW.
It is a major junction connected with Delhi, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Pune, Jammu Tavi, Howrah, Kolkata, Nanded, Jaynagar (Bihar), Kanyakumari, Chennai, Mangalore, Tirunelveli, Bilaspur, Tatanagar, Vishakpatnam, Jaipur, and Chindwara of Madhya Pradesh. Shatabdi Express stops at this junction. Other major trains running through the station are Jhelum Express, Amritsar Express, Himgiri Express, Sachkhand Express, Sealdah Express, Andaman Express, Himasagar Express and Shalimar Express. Phagwara is nearby Jalandhar, Nawanshehar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur and Kapurthala.
