Madhupur is a city in Deogarh district of
Jharkhand state. It is served with a major railway junction which belongs to
Asansol Jn division of Eastern Railway Zone. It is connected to Delhi-Kolkata
main line through Mughalsarai-Patna rail route. Dhanbad Jn serves to be the
major nearby railhead to Madhupur. There are several places of interest located
around Madhupur. Pathrol Kali Mata Mandir, Bakulia fall Gosuva Shiv Mandir,
Baikuntha Dham Mandir and Nag Devta Mandir are some of the places which could
be explored from Madhupur Jn.
Madhupur lies just
about 40 km away from Deogarh which
serves to be a prominent pilgrimage place in Jharkhand state. It is home to
Baidyanath Temple, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas located in different
parts of the country. It also happens to be one of holy 51 Shakti Peethas.
Besides, there are many other religious sites and places of interest located in
and around Deogarh. Giridh is another
important place which offers several scenic places and religious sites.
Madhupur Jn is just about 52 km away from Giridh and is connected to it by rail
and road. Sri Sammeta Sikharji, Khandoli Dam, Usri Falls, Harihar Dham and
Surya Mandir are some of worth visiting places in Giridh.
Patna-Howrah Spl,
Muzaffarpur-Kolkata Spl, Kolkata-Jhansi Exp, Howrah-Danapur Exp and many other
trains pass through Madhupur Railway Junction. Madhupur is also connected by
state highways to other parts of Jharkhand state and rest parts of the country.
Ranchi Airport serves to be the closest airbase to Madhupur.
