Gonda is a city and the headquarters of Gonda district in the state of Uttar Pradesh. It is situated about 125 km away from Lucknow, the capital city of the state. Gonda is served with a major railway junction which comes under Lucknow Jn division of North Eastern Railway Zone. GD is the station code of Gonda Jn. Gonda is also connected by state highway no 30 to other parts of Uttar Pradesh.
Gonda is home to several places of interest. It also hosts a number of religious significance sites frequented by large number of devotees. Besides, there are many other prominent towns and cities which have easy access to Gonda Jn. Sravasti, Faizabad, Ayodhya, Basti and Lucknow are some of them. Gonda Jn is served with a number of trains connecting it to many other cities of India. Jammu Tawi- Muzaffarpur Exp, Gorakhpur- Jammu Tawi Exp, Gorakhpur- Secunderabad Exp, Gorakhpur- Bangalore Exp, Gorakhpur- Howrah Exp, Varanasi- Gonda Intercity, Guwahati- Lalgarh Exp are some of prominent trains which pass through Gonda Railway Junction. Amausi Airport at Lucknow serves to be the closest airbase to Gonda Jn.
