Bayana is a small town located in Bharatpur
district of Rajasthan state. It is
located just about 45 km away from Bharatpur city which serves as the
headquarters the district. Bayana is a railway junction which
comes under Kota division of North Central Railway of Indian Railways. Bayana
Railway Junction falls on Kota-Agra rail line and is served with many trains.
The town of Bayana is religious significant place in
Rajasthan state. According to mythology it is believed to have been built by
Banasur who was Asura during the time of Krishna. Bayana serves to be a perfect
base from where one can explore several places of attraction situated around
it. Bharatpur, Fatehpur Sikri and Agra
are some of the places which can easily be accessed from Bayana Railway
Junction. Bharatpur is famous for
its wild life sanctuary which is abundant with numerous species of birds and
animals. Lohgarh Fort is another major attraction of Bharatpur.
The town of Bayana is just about 50 km southwest of Fatehpur
Sikri, a prominent historic city of Uttar Pradesh. Fatehpur Sikri is home to several historic monuments and structure
which present the visitors the insights of the glorious and royal old days of
the regions. There are many other places of interest located around the town of
Bayana.
Bayana Railway Junction is well linked by several trains to
other parts of the country. Bharatpur Railway Junction is the nearby major
railhead to Bayana. Besides, state high ways (SH-45 & SH-1) connect the
town to other parts of the country. Kheria Airport at Agra (90 Km) serves as
the closest airbase to Bayana.
