Goa is one of the most popular tourist destinations of India. Goa is known for its beautiful beaches, night life, music, dance, etc. There is one more thing about Goa that makes it different from other parts of the country and that thing is its charming and colorful fairs and festivals which serves an occasion where the tourists can have the glimpses of vibrant and colorful lifestyle of the people of Goa.
Goa Carnival is a much awaited event of Goa. Though the festival is celebrated in the month of February the preparation of it start many months before. This three day festival has been attracting thousands of tourists from across the world. The event is full of amusement activities like dance, live performance, street plays, music which make the festival vibrant. Shigmotsav is another prominent festival of Goa. The festival comes in the month of March and presents the visitors an opportunity to witness vibrant culture of Goa. People from other several towns gather together and head for the religious shrine singing and dancing all the way and indulging in other amusement activities. This fascinating event is rarely missed by the tourists.
Feast of St. Francis Xavier in Goa is held every year in the month of December. The festival is organized at Basilica of Bom Jesus in old Goa and is visited by thousands of devotee from all over the world. Feast of Three Kings is another important event of Goa. The festival is organized every year in the citadel of our lady of Mount. It is celebrated in honor of Our lady of Mount who is much revered for safeguarding her devotees. The festival is celebrated in the month of January and is full singing and dancing.
Monte Music Festival is another musical event of Goa. This is the new born festival and is being organized annually for last some years. Chapel of Our Lady of the Mount is venue for this amazing event. Sea Food Festival, Bonderam and Goa Heritage Festival are other noteworthy festivals celebrated with much enthusiasm in Goa.
