Tourist places in Bhilai,India


Bhilai is a city situated in Durg district of Chhattisgarh state, India. It is located at 25km west of state capital of Raipur. Bhilai is famous for Bhilai Steel Plant. It is the largest steel plant in India and known for being the only manufacturer of rails for Indian Railway. The city is known for many festivals that are celebrated throughout the year. Weather of Bhilai is pleasant during the winter and hot and dry during the summer.
Places of interest:  The city of Bhilai houses many places worth visiting in and around it.
Maitri Bagh : It is a zoo and park established by Bhilai Steel Plant. There are two huge man-made water lakes near the Bagh. One water lake is used to supply the water to the township and other is used for Steel Plant itself. These lakes are worth visit places in Bhilai. Bhilai Water Works is situated right across the Maitri Bagh. It is a facility which is used to provide clean water to Bhilai townships. Maitri Bagh, Garden of Friendship as it literally means, was established as a symbol of India – USSR friendship.
Civic Centre : It is another place of interest in Bhilai. It was earlier started as shopping center consisting of two rows of shops and stores arranged in L shape. Initially it had TATA textile on one side and Bata Shoes on other.  The Civic center was major center for lots of social activities, entertainment and shopping for a long time. Then a lot of changes happened after that in Civic center and nearby.  There is a doomed shaped super market Near the Civic center and it is now used as art exhibition.
Open Air theater :
In the east of Civic Centre there is an open space with a stage and it is known as ‘’Open –Air-Theatre and used for various cultural activities including musical night shows. Kala Mandir, situated right of Civic center, is used for various purposes. It was earlier a movie theatre known as Chitra Mandir. Other places of interest include

Tandula Dam :
Tandula is a famous picnic spot and popular for its old palaces.You can also find a unique tourism opportunity at here.

How to reach:
Rail and road connect the city to other parts of the state and the country.  Durg railway junction is nearest to Bhilai and it is connected to other major cities like Kolkata and Mumbai. Nearest airport is Raipur Airport which is connected to other major cities of India like Mumbai, Delhi, Nagpur, Kolkata etc. Many state- run buses and private luxury buses connects the city to other major cities and towns of the state and the country.

Tourist places in Nellore,Andhra Pradesh

Nellore is a city in Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the headquarter of Potti Sri Ramulu Nellore district. The district earlier was known as Nellore. The city of Nellore was known in ancient times as Vikrama Simhapuri. It is situated on the banks of Penna River. It is also famous for its mica and lemon production.    The city gets its name from the Tamil word ‘’Nell’’ which means Paddy. The cultivations of paddy are done here on large scale.  Nellore is also one of the fastest emerging economy in the state of Andhra Pradesh.  The region was under many dynasties like Kharavela of Chedi, Mouraya dynasty, Pallavas, Satvahan, Cholas dynasty etc.

Temple of Sri Talpagiri Ranaganatha swami :
It is located just 5 km away from Nellore. The temple is built 6000 years ago and is located on the banks of Penner River. The temple has seven beautiful gold Kalisams. Brmhostavam, a grand festival is celebrated here every year during the month of March-April.  

 The temple of Mallikarjuna Swami Kamakshi Tai :
It is another place of worship in Jonnwada near Nellore. The temple is situated just 12 km from Nellore. The deity of the temple is believed to fulfill the wishes of devotees and hence it is visited by many people throughout the year.

Vedagiri Lakshmimarasimha Swami Devastanam :
It is another religious place you can visit. It is believed to be built in 9th century and inscription found on the rock proves that the temple was founded by Narasimha Varma, a Pallava King. 
   


Penchalakona :
 
It is yet another sacred ancient place. According to mythology it is said that lord Narasimha bathed here in Penchalakona after he killed a demon named Hiranya Kashyap and took his original form of Lord Vishnu.

The temple of Sri Gayathri Devi Vishwakarma :  
It is another religious place to be seen near Nellore. It is situated in Virat Nagar and believed to be one of the largest Gayatri Devi temples in entire state of Andhra Pradesh.
Nellore is well connected by road and rail to other parts of state and the country. Nellore railway station is well linked by many trains to Hyderabad, Chennai and other cities and towns of the state and the country. Many state run buses and other private vehicles are available form other cities and towns of the state. Chennai serves as the nearest airbase to Nellore. Chennai is about 174 km away and is well linked by many flights to other major cities of the country.

Tourist places in Adoni,Andhra Pradesh

Adoni is a popular commercial town located in the western part of Andhra Pradesh state. The town comes in Kurnool district and lies near the border of Karnataka state. Abundant in textile industries, the town of Adoni is the largest producer of cotton in the region and   therefore it is sometimes called as cotton town of southern India. It also played a significant role as a major commercial center during British rule in India. It was referred as second Mumbai during the colonial rule for the town of Adoni served as major industrial hub containing almost all business activities. Presently Adoni is popular industrial town housing several textile industries and is also famous for its tourist places situated there.

Fort of Adoni :-
Commercial town of Adoni also offers the visitors numerous places of interest and worship. Among them the fort of Adoni and Shri Mahayogi Lakshaman Avva temple are prominent ones. Situated on a granite hill located there, Adoni fort is the prime attraction of the town. Though the fort is in ruin state, it is visited by many tourists round the year. The fort was built approximately 300 years ago and is popular tourist destination in Adoni.
Shri Mahayogi Lakshmamma Avva temple:-
Shri Mahayogi Lakshaman Avva temple is famous for its beautiful structure and marble works. The temple is dedicated to Mahayogi Lakshaman also known as Avva. The floor of the temple is completely made of marble enhancing the beauty of the temple. The temple is visited by devotees and tourist as well. The town of Adoni also presents the visitors many other places worth visiting.
Ranamandala Konda:-
Ranamandala Konda is one of them. It is famous for the temple of Hanuman and Ramajal Lake situated there. The place has beautiful natural surroundings and is an ideal place for bird watchers.
Kaman Bavi, Jumma Masjid, Venkanna Bavi etc are some of other important places you can visit on your tour to Adoni. These places are known for their historical and religious importance and visited by many tourists.
How to reach:-
Road and rail connect Adoni to the rest parts of the state. Adoni is about 300 km away from Hyderabad and is well connected by several state run buses. State run buses and other private vehicles also connect Adoni to Kurnool, Bengaluru, Vijayawada, Ananthpur many other towns and cities of the state. Railway station of Adoni connects the town  to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Kanyakumari, Gulbarga, Tirupati, Ahmadabad etc. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Hyderabad serves as the nearest airport to Adoni. The airport is well linked to Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and many other cities of Indian and other countries.

Kanha National Park is situated in state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The national park is famous for its tiger reserve.  This 940 sq km national park is spread over an area of two districts Mandla and Balaghat. The present Kanha National Park was earlier divided in to two sanctuaries Hallon and Banjar. It was late in 1955 that it got the status of a National Park. It now mesmerizes the visitors by its rich flora and fauna.
Kanha National Park is home to about 100 tigers. Leopard, sloth beers and wild dogs can also be found here. Samber, barking dear and spotted-deer can be sited more frequently here.
The national park houses more than 200 species of flowering plants. Sal and other mix trees intermingled with meadow can be found on large scale in lower land area of the forest. The highland forest provides quite distinct look from other parts of the forest. Trees on slopes like bamboo and Kullu offer a beautiful view of the forest.

Best time to visit Kanha national park:


Kanha National Park remains closed from 1st June to 15th October. It is best visited during the period from October to June. From November to March is best for nature lover and ideal for bird watching because as this is the monsoon way back period so all the surrounding get rejuvenated.
Opening hours of the park is form 6.30 am to 10.30 am in the morning while it is 3.30.pm to 6.30 pm in the evening.
For accommodation there are many hotels in National park most of them are situated near Kisli village.

How to reach Kanha national park:


You can get here via Jabalpur or Nagpur which are well connected to the National Park. Many state run buses and other private vehicles like cars on rents are available from these cities to the Kandala which is further linked to Kisli gate by state run buses. Kisli gate is one of the major points from where you can enter the core area of the Kanha National Park.

Tourist places in Ranikhet, Uttarakhand


Situated at the altitude of 1829 m, Ranikhet is popular hill station in Indian state of Uttarakhand. The hill station lies in Almora district of the state. It is adorned with beauty of nature and has calm and cool ambience. Ranikhet is also a cantonment area and houses Kumaon and Naga regiments of India. A military hospital is also situated there. Ranikhet, queen’s meadow as it literally means, was mainly developed as hill station by the British. It is visited by thousands of tourist throughout the year.
Places to see: 

Bhalu Dam:
 It is an interesting place to visit near Ranikhet. It is small man-made lake and is a nice place to spend holidays. The lake is surrounded by beautiful nature offers amazing views of majestic mountains of Himalayan ranges.  Adding the beauty to the place, a fascinating garden is also situated over there.

World famous Chaubatia:
It is another place to be seen near Ranikhet. It is known for its wide orchards of delicious apples, peaches, plums and Apricots. Chaubatia has grown in to popular picnic spot over the years as it an ideal place to explore surrounding nature. One can also see from here the beautiful views of snow covered Himalayan Mountains.



Jhula Devi temple:
It is situated near Ranikhet. It is built in 8th century and is dedicated to goddess Durga. The temple has large cluster of bells the sound of which can be heard from a long distance. The temple situated in serene environment and is visited by many devotees and tourists as well.




Mankameshwar temple:
It is another important place of worship in Ranikhet. It is located Pithoragarh near Ranikhet. The temple is built by Kumaon regiment of India. It is often visited by a good number of devotees and people related with defense.




Dwarahat near Ranikhet is small town and houses many ancient temples. Here you can visit Shakti Devi temple and the temple of Naithana Devi. Majhkhali is another place of interest situated near Ranikhet. It fascinates the tourists with its imposing natural beauty. The place is gifted with hilly terrains, calm and cool ambience and beautiful natural surroundings.
Sitalkhet and Upat are other places of attraction to be seen near Ranikhet. Ranikhet also offers its adventurous tourists thrilling experience of trekking as it house many trekking trails in and around it.

Walajah Road Railway Junction,Tamil Nadu

Walajah Road Junction

Walajah Road Junction is located at about 5 km from Walajpet of Vellore district in Tamil Nadu. It is known as the oldest railway connection in Tamil Nadu. The junction comes under the jurisdiction of Southern Railways. Station code is WJR.
Walajpet is situated on the banks of Palar River between Chennai and Bangalore. The junction lies between Arakkonam and Vellore Katpadi junction on the railway route from Chennai to Coimbatore. Tirupati is the nearby big station at about 101 km from Walajpet, near Arcot. Vellore, Tirupati, Chittoor, Kanchpuram and Sriperumbudur are some nearby attractions.

Udhna Junction is located on the outskirts of Surat in Gujarat. Udhna railway station comes under the jurisdiction of both Western and Central Railways. Station code is UDN.

Than Railway Junction, Gujarat


Than railway junction is located in the State of Gujarat under the jurisdiction of Western Railways. Station code is THAN. The town of Than is in the Surendranagar district near Chorvira, Thangadh, Surajdeval, Mesaria, Dadali, Lunsar.

Sorbhog Railway Junction, Assam

Sorbhog Junction


Sorbhog Junction also spelt as Sarbhog, is located in the Barpet district of Assam. The railway junction comes under the jurisdiction of North Frontier Railways. Station code is SBE. The station is near Barpet Road station, at about 10 km distance. It is closer by 142 km from the Guwahati Junction and by 43 km from the Bongaigaon junction.
Barpeta, Manasa National Park, Bongaingaon, Goalpara are some interesting places near Sorbhog. Major train that runs through this junction is the Kamrup Express running between Howrah and Dibrugarh to and fro.  Passenger trains run connecting Guwahati, Bongaigaon, Alipur Duar and Lumding.
