Ahmedpur is a small town of West Bengal state. It is located in Birbhum district and is major railway junction having rail connections to other cities of West Bengal state. The town is known for its Sugar Mill and the old narrow gauge rail line about 53 km connecting Ahmedpur to the town of Katwa.
Many places of tourist attraction can be explored from the town of Ahmedpur. Birbhum district in which Ahmedpur town comes is home to several places of interest. Ahmedpur Railway Junction serves to be a major railhead from where one can explore surroundings places of interest. Ahmedpur Railway Station is situated on Bardhaman- Sainthia rail line and is used to reach to major destination like Kolkata and other cities of WestBengal
Babu Para, Choto Line Para, Chowringee Para, Islampur, Kucahi Ghata and Ishwar Pur are some of the places worth visiting around Ahmedpur. Situated just 7 km away from the town of Ahmedpur, Tentuldihi Mallick Bari is another important place to visit. The place is famous for its grand celebration of Durga Puja which come in the month of Sept-Oct. Celebration of Durga Puja festival has 300 year old history. The celebration of the festival draws a number of people from far and wide. 
Ahmedpur Railway Junction is served with many trains connecting the town to other major cities of west Bengal and other parts of the country. The town of Ahmedpur is also connected well by state highway (no 6) and national highway (NH- 2B) to other parts to the state.
