Adra is town in the Indian state of West Bengal. Situated in Perulia district of the state, Adra is a major railway division of South Eastern Railway. The town is known for Anglo Indian people who live there in considerable number. The economy of the town is driven by the presence of rail. The place serves to be a major coal loading division which supplies coal to several power plants of India.
Adra Railway Junction has rail connections to many railheads of west Bengal and other parts of the country. Several places of tourist attraction situated nearby make Adra Railway Junction a major railhead to get down at. Bankura railway junction lies on Adra – Midnapur rail line. Bankura is just about 56 km away from Adra town and is famous for paintings and music. It is an ideal place to explore modern Bengali art and Architecture. Famous for its terracotta arts and architecture, Bankura is home to several beautiful and historical destinations. 
Bishnupur is another place of interest one can visit near Adra. It is famous for silk saris and numerous terracotta temples. One can also visit the Shatabdi Park with a beautiful natural water reservoir and a reserve forests. Situated just 5 km away from Adra Railway Junction, Jaichandi Pahar (hill) is famous for rock climbing and trekking. Kashipur Rajabari is yet another place of interest located near Adra town. 
Being a major railway junction of South Eastern Railway, Adra is well connected by several trains to Asansol (situated on Kolkata-Delhi line), Kharagpur (Kolkata-Chennai, Kolkata-Mumbai lines), Gomoh (Kolkata-Delhi line) and Tatanagar (Kolkata-Mumbai line).
