Tourist Places in Bhiwani, Haryana



Bhiwani is a town and municipality in the state of Haryana. It is the headquarters of Bhiwani district located near the Thar Desert. Bhiwani gets its reference in Ain-e-Akbari. It was set up by a Rajput king and was named after his wife Bhani. In the course of the time the name Bhani was changed to present Bhiwani. The town has been a prominent place of commerce since Mughal era. Home to several prominent temples, Bhiwani is sometimes referred to as the small Kashi of India. Bhiwani is the boxing powerhouse of India. It hosts a boxing academy established by Captain Hawa Singh, a legendary Indian boxer.
Places to visit: There are number of places worth a visit in Bhiwani.

Star Monument :
Star Monument is one of them. It is situated in Satsang Bhavan Complex. It is a Smadhi of Sh Tara Chand or Maharaj Ji.  The monument gets its name from star-like shape. A beautiful small garden is located near the monuments. The hut in the garden is believed to be the place for Maharaj Ji to meditate.
Jain Temple :
Jain Temple is prominent place of worship in Bhiwani. It is located in Ranila village in Bhiwani district. The temple is also famous for its wonderful architecture and is visited by both the tourists and devotees.
Gauri Shankar Mandir :Gauri Shankar Mandir is another prominent place of worship. It was built in 1955 by Seth Kirorimal. Pillars of the temple are beautifully engraved with Hindu mythological scenes. Shri Rangnath Mandir, Khaki-baba ka Mandir, Hira Puri Mandir, Hanuman Mandir, Lohru Fort, Tomb of Raja Khetri, Shyameswar Tank, and Hanuman Mandir are some of many other places of interest located in and around Bhiwani.
How to reach: 
Bhiwani is well connected by rail to other parts of India. It is a major railway junction and hence gets several trains connecting many other cities of the country. It also has good road connectivity. Indira Gandhi International Airport is the closest airbase to Bhiwani. State-run buses are also available to the town from other cities and towns of Haryana.
