Gudivada Railway Junction


        Gudivada is a small town located in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh state. It is railway junction which comes under Vijayawada Jn of South Central Railway Zone. Gudivada Railway Junction falls on Vijayawada- Machhilipatnam rail route. Rail line coming from Vijayawada bifurcates into two rail routes, one leading to Machhilipatnam and other one to Bhimavaram. 
         Gudivada Jn is just about 55 km away from Vijayawada which serves as a major commercial hub and the third largest city of Andhra Pradesh.  Perched on the banks of Krishna River, Vijayawada is also a major tourist destination in the state. It hosts several places of historic importance including Undavalli Caves and Kondapalli Fort. Rajiv Gandhi Park, Kanga Durga Temple and Gundala Church are other places of interest in Vijayawada, otherwise known as Bezwada.
      Gudivada Jn is just about 38 km away from Machhilipatnam, a port town of Krishna district. Machhilipatnam is known for its beautiful beaches frequented by number of tourists from across the state. The Panduranga Swami Temple in Machhilipatnam is one of the most visited religious places in Andhra Pradesh.  Guntur and Amaravathi are other places of interest which can be easily accessed from Gudivada Jn. 
        Gudivada Railway Junction is served with several trains connecting Gudivada to many parts of Andhra Pradesh and other part of the country. Gudivada town is perched on national highway no 214 (NH-214). Besides, several other highways also link the town to other parts of Andhra Pradesh. Vijayawada Airport is the closest airbase to Gudivada.
