Chandausi Railway Junction


        Chandausi is a city in Bhimnagar district of Uttar Pradesh state. It is a railway junction which comes under Northern Railways, Moradabad Jn. Chandausi Railway Junction falls on Aligarh–Bareilly rail route and is served with many trains connecting the town to other parts of the state and country. Chandausi, originally known as ‘Chaand Si’ meaning moon like in English, is believed to be to have been created by Valmiki, the author of Ramayana epic.
      Chandausi is known for its mint oil production due to the large scale cultivation of the mint plant in surrounding region of the city. The city is also famous for its ghee and festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. Procession of elephants, the representative of Ganesh, is the main highlight the festival in Chandausi. Chandausi hosts Zonal Railway Training Institute which caters training needs of railway divisions of Northern and Northern Central Railways.  
       Chandausi is home to number of temples which hold great religious significance among Hindu people. Bade Hanumanji Ka Mandir is the most famous temple in the city. The temple is about 400 year old and is dedicated to Hanuman. Rambagh Dham is another prominent place of worship in the city. It houses an idol of main deity goddess Durga along with idols of other eight goddesses. Other important temples in Chandausi include Kunj Bihari Temple, Ganesh Temple, Lord Vishnu Temple, Brahma Devji ka temple, etc.
      Many trains pass through Chandausi Railway Junction connecting it to other cities of India. Besides, National Highway no 93 (NH-93) connecting Agra- Moradabad also runs through the city. Pantnagar Airport serves to be the closest airbase to Chandausi, while Agra airport is the nearest major airport to it.
