Maniyachchi Railway Junction


Maniyachchi Railway Junction is located in Tuticorin (also known as Thoothukudi) district of Tamil Nadu state. It perched on Tirunelveli-KovilPatti and Thoothukudi-Kovilpatti rail route. Rail line coming from Kovilpatti bifurcates into two rail routes, one leading to Tirunelveli and other one to Thoothukudi.  Naraikkinar and Ilavelangal are nearby railway stations Maniyachchi Jn, while Tirunelveli Jn is major nearby railhead to it. There are several places of interest which can easily be accessed from Maniyachchi.
Maniyachchi Jn is just about 31 km away from Tirunelveli, the sixth largest city of Tamil Nadu.  Rich in culture and tradition, Tirunelveli is abundant with a number of temples and churches. Vettuvan Koil is famous rock cut temple located near Tirunelveli. The temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan in the name of Subramanian. Swami Nellaiyappar Temple and Mundanthurai-Kalakad wildlife sanctuary are other prominent places in Tirunelveli. Sivakashi and Thiruchendur are other worth visiting places which can easily be reached from Maniyachchi Jn.   
Chennai-Nagarcoil Exp, Tuticorin-Chennai Exp, Howrah-Kanyakumari Exp, Himsagar Exp (Jammu Tawi-Tirunelveli) and many other trains pass through Maniyachchi Railway Junction. State highway no 75 and several other highway also connect the town of Maniyachchi to other parts of Tamil Nadu. Nearby airbase to Maniyachchi Jn is Tuticorin Airport.
