Lakhisarai Railway Junction


        Lakhisarai is a town and the headquarters of Lakhisarai district in the Indian state of Bihar. Rail and road connect Lakhisarai to other parts of the state and the country. Lakhisarai is perched on Patna-Howrah main rail line and is served with a railway junction which comes under Danapur division of East Central Railway Zone. Kiul Jn and Bansipur are nearby railway stations to Lakhisarai Jn, while Bhagalpur serves to be the nearby major railhead.
        Lakhisarai is just about 52 km away from Munger which is famous for several places of attraction. The town of Munger serves to be the headquarters of Munger district. Located on the banks of River Ganga, Munger houses a number of attractions like Munger Fort, Sita Kund (a hot water spring), Kastaharni Ghat, Bhimaband Wildlife Sanctuary, etc. Munger could be reached from Lakhisarai by rail or road. Nalanda is another worth visiting place located just about 75 km away from Lakhisarai. It is the archeological site housing the remains of ancient Nalanda University. Samastipur, Kakolat and Bihar Sharif are other places which are easily accessible from Lakhisarai Jn.
      Patna-Howrah Spl, Danapur Exp (Howrah-Danapur), Vikramshila Exp (Anand Vihar TRM (Delhi) –Bhagalpur), Howrah-Rajgir Exp  and many other trains run through Lakhisarai Railway Junction connecting it to other parts of the country. It is also connected by road to other cities and towns of Bihar state. Patna Airport serves to be the closest airbase to Lakhisarai Jn.
