Khana Railway Junction


      Khana Railway Junction is located in Bardhaman district of West Bengal state.  Khana Jn falls on Kolkata-Asansol rail route and belongs to Howrah Jn of Eastern Railway Zone. Talit and Jhapater Dhal are nearby railway stations to Khana Jn, while Asansol Jn serves to be the nearby major railhead. Khana is a small village perched on national highway no 2 (NH-2) and is just 4 km away from Khana Railway Junction.
         Khana Jn is just about 18 km away from Bardhaman, the headquarters of Bardhaman district. There are several worth visiting places which are located around Khana Jn and are easily accessible from it. Bardhaman serves to a major tourist destination in West Bengal state. It is home to several places of interest like Curzon Gate, Golapbagh, Tomb of Sher Afgan, Science Centre, Meghnad Shah Planetarium, etc.  Bolpur is another place of interest situated just about 60 km away from Khana Jn. It is famous for its proximity to Santiniketan which is home to  Viswa Bharti University set up by Rabindranath Tagore. Bolpur has rail connection from Khan Jn. Durgapur and Asansol are other places of interest which can be easily reached by rail or road from Khana. Khana Jn lies about 120 km away from Kolkata, the capital city West Bengal.
      Amritsar Exp (Howrah-Amritsar), Rajgir- Howrah passenger, Burdwan-Rampur Hat Passenger, Viswabharati passenger (Howrah-Rampur Hat) and Burdwan-Asansol Passenger are some of the trains which pass through Khana Jn.  Besides, Khana is perched on NH-2 connecting Delhi and Kolkata. The closest airbase to Khana Jn is Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata.
