Chhindwara is a city and the headquarters of Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh state, India. It is located amidst beautiful natural surroundings abundant with lush green vegetation, rivers, Satpura hills etc. It is surrounded by thick forests enriched with flora and fauna. Chhindwara is major railway junction which belongs to South East Central Railways, Nagargali. It is has rail connections to Nagpur and Jabalpur. The city of Nagpur in Maharashtra is just about 130 km away from Chhindwara, while the city of Jabalpur is about 200 km away from it. 
       Chhindwara district is mainly dominated by tribal people. Gond, Bharia, Pradhan, Korku are some of the prominent tribes of the region. There are several places of attraction situated in and around the city of Chhindwara. Devgarh Fort situated just about 40 km away from Chhindwara city is a prominent place of attraction. It is historic for built by Jatav king of Gond. The fort is perched on a small hill and is surrounded by a deep valley with lush green sceneries. The architecture of this majestic is somewhat similar with Mughal architecture. Tribal Museum, Tamia Hills, Patalkot and Neelkanthi are other places of interest situated in and around Chhindwara. 
       Several trains connect Chhindwara to Nagpur, Jabalpur and many other cities of India. Several state highways also connect the city to many other parts of Madhya Pradesh and neighboring state of Maharashtra. Nagpur in Maharashtra serves to be the nearest airbase to Chhindwara.
