Tourist Places in Jamnagar


Jamnagar Tourist attractions: The city of Jamnagar is major tourist destination in the state of Gujarat.  Owing to several places of interest situated in and around it, Jamnagar witnesses large number of tourists flocking there from different parts of the country. 
 
Ranmal Lake: Located in old city of Jamnagar, Ranmal Lake is a prime attraction of the region. Also known as Lakhota Lake, Ranmal Lake is famous for two historic structures- Lakhota fort and Bhujia Kotha. Perched in the middle of the lake, Lakhota Fort is an imposing historical structure of Jamnagar. It has now been turned into a museum housing a fine collection of sculptures and other works of art.



Darbargadh Palace: It is another historic importance structure of Jamnagar. Darbargadh Palace, otherwise known as Maharaja’s Palace, presents majestic view to the onlookers. Built in beautiful Rajput style of architecture, Darbargadh Palace is known for its exquisite stone carvings, carved pillars, ornamental works and beautiful wall paintings. 




Pratap Vilas Palace: It is yet another impressive palace of historic significance in the city of Jamnagar. Built on the line of Calcutta’s Victoria Memorial, Pratap Vilas Palace boasts of beautiful work of carvings. Three large domes of the Palace are made of glass mesmerizing one and all. This must visit place in Jamnagar was built during the rule of Maharaja Jam Ranjisinhji. 
Apart from these key places of attraction in Jamnagar, there are many other places of interest worth visiting in and around the city. Bala Hanuman, Solarium, Balachadi beach, Barda Sanctuary and Bohra Hajira are some of them.
