Tourist places in Karnala,Maharashtra

Famous for its bird sanctuary and fort, Karnala is a small town in the district of Raigad of Indian state of Maharashtra. Adorned with natural beautiful surroundings and serene environment, Karnala is a major picnic spot for many tourists and bird lovers. Nestled with dense forests and other attraction of the nature,   Karnala is the ideal place for nature lovers. Karnala Fort :-

Karnala Bird Sanctuary :-
Karnala bird sanctuary is one of the best places for bird lovers. The sanctuary is located at the bottom of the fort and it is home to about 180 species of birds. Resident and migratory birds as well are found here. The sanctuary is also home to many rare species of birds like ashy minimet and spotted heart wood peckers. The sanctuary lies just off the Mumbai-Pune National highway to Goa.



Bhavani Temple :-
Bhavani temple is situated in Devale near Karnala. The temple is also known as Bhavani Khadgeswar temple. This religious significance place is visited by many devotees and tourists. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains and natural sites.




Karnala Shiva Temple :-
Situated at Abernath near Karnala Shiva Temple is another religious significance place. The temple is believed to be built in 1060AD.  Karnala also provides its visitors who like adventurous activities the exciting experience of rock climbing.  Many climbers take the challenge of steep rocks of the fort.


How to get there:
Panvel is the closest railway station to Karnala. It is just 10km away from Karnala. Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at Mumbai is the nearest airport situated about 60 km away from it. Tourist places in Kamshet,Maharashtra

Kamshet is popular hill station situated in the district of Pune of Indian state of Maharashtra.  It is just 11km from twin-hill station of Lonavala and Khandala. Kamshet is famous picnic spot to spend holidays. It is located at the altitude of 2200 feet. Its temperature ranges from 25 to 40c in summer and from 10 to 26c in winter.  It is gifted with lush greeneries and many beautiful lakes around.  Marathi is widely spoken language of the region. Ancient Caves of Karla :-

It is another tourist attraction. These Buddhist caves are believed to be built in 1st century.  Other than statues of Buddha and Stupas, The Caves houses sculptures of dancing animals. 






Bhaja Caves:-
Bhaja Caves is yet another Buddhist Caves to be seen here. In theses caves there are about 18 rock cut caves and are believed to be built in 200 BC. The caves have 14 Stupas with 5 ones being inside while the other 9 ones are outside the caves. It is around 59 k.m. away from Pune.
 



Shri Kondeshwar Temple:- 
It also known as elephant temple, is situated at Phohara near Kamshet. Surrounded by lush green forest, the temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Lord Shiva. Many devotees and tourist visit the spot throughout the year.



Vadivali Lake :- 
It is anther tourist attraction in Kamshet. The lake and its beautiful surroundings offer tourists many picturesque views.

Guhagar is a town of Ratnagiri district of Indian state of Maharashtra. The district is situated in Konkan region of the state. It is mainly known for its beautiful and clean beach. Tourist places Udvada, Gujarat

Udvada is famous holy town for Parsis in India. It is situated between Daman and Valsad in the state of Gujarat. Tourist places in Lonavala, Maharashtra


Lonavala is a city and hill station in Indian state of Maharashtra.
