Navratri, The Celebration Of Shakti

The ganesh festival is just over and we all were waiting for navratri since then which is one of the important festival in India. It is one of the biggest festival celebrated in India. Navratri, the literal meaning is nine nights. Its a word derived from Sanskrit. These nine days and nights are celebrated by worshipping the manifestations of Goddess Durga. She is the divine power symbolizing the shakti.

The navratri is celebrated in October but the exact dates are confirmed every year by lunar calender. Navratri has various stories behind its celebration. Once upon a time Asuras, the demos rose above the Suras, gods. They achieved more powers than gods and defeated them under the leadership of Devil Mashishasur who was a powerful Asur and created a chaos in the world. All gods were scared for the welfare of the world hence the ultimate powerful goddess, Maa Durga was born to defeat him. Their battle went on for the nine days and on the last day, 10th day Mahishasur was defeated and killed by her so the name is navaratri because battle went on for nine days. This is also called as a "Durgotsav".

Navratri has bigger celebration in Maharashtra, Gujrat and Karnatka. Garba of Gujrat, Durga puja in West bengal, 'Ravan-dahan' in Karnatka, Ramlila in Notth India are the best picks of Navratri.

It is believed that Maa Durga stays with us in these nine days blessing us happiness and prosperity. The forms of Durga are Shailiputri, Bramhacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalratri, Mahagauri, Siddhidatri. These forms are also known as Navadurga.

According to different regions these nine forms are known as with different names. The various incarnations of Maa durga celebrated in this nine days are Durga, Bhadrakali, Amba, Annapurna devi, Bhairavi, Chandika/Chandi, Lalita, Bhavani, Mookambika. Every day has its own celebration in Navratri. In first three days, Maa kaali which is also known as Kaali destroy the evil in our homes and souls. In second three days goddess Laxmi gives us the spiritual health. Laxmii is the goddess of Wealth. In last three days the goddess Sarswati who is the goddess of wisdom is worshipped. We all seek for these three aspects.

Ghatasthapna is done on the very first day. A pot is installed in home and grains are sowed. A diya is lit throughout the nine days undisturbed. The pot is a symbol of universe and diya represents the shakti, the pure and divine power.
The last day, 10th day is known as Dusshera or Vijayadashmi which has its own mythological importance and beliefs. More about it in our next post.

These nine days the atmosphere in home is very zealous. Garba dance is performed which has turned into big time events these days. Specially girls start preparing for their costumes weeks before navratri.

Navratri is the festival of Goddess Durga, we worship the divine power personified by feminine form. It gives us the message that the true, unimaginable and abundant form of shakti lies in the feminine form of god. If she can love and care for you unconditionally, work for you all the time and seem mild then she also has the tremendous spellbinding shakti to destroy you. If she can rise and create you she also has the supreme power to finish you fiercely. And while I am writing this I remember a role of mother in our lives. We worship the goddess these nine days wholeheartedly but we actually have been living with this one form of goddess since the day we are born. She brings us to the world, protects from all the possible evil things and loves us no matter what, she is our Mother, our goddess.

Every home has a living goddess in it working for them, loving them, nurturing them silently without expecting. Do we worship them? Do we recognize their sacrifice? Do we say thank you? Do we say "we can live and win" because of you?

Lets make a difference this year, lets remember the first living goddess we come across in our life, lets be thankful for them and worship them by giving respect they deserve and love that they dont even demand for. "Shatakoti Pranam" to these goddesses in our homes, thank you for being our Shakti.

Happy Navratri to all!

Airport car rental

We all love traveling and those exceptional people who don’t, they either traveled with the wrong company who get bored or they simply didn't plan it well. But obviously this is my opinion but all I can come up with the generalized reason is this only...

We all strive for excellence then let it be simply cooking which started from just heating up and cooking well meat or fruits or vegetables in prehistoric times to now well garnishing methods, making it a five or seven course cuisine meal or let that be being just happy when people used to get just hired in a govt. offices to now where as attending all sort of performance enhancing conferences and being competitive enough for salary raise or better job options ahead. World is changing and so are we; those who don't change and adapt these changes are left behind just what Darwin has stated so in his theory of survival for the fittest for animals in his study of evolution. Our traveling concepts have changed also as with the time, aren't we striving excellence here also by planning it near to perfect so as to cover maximum places to visit in given time and making it more and more comfortable and safer at the same time?

Airlines have provided their services in affordable range for every class and we are using the maximum benefit of that. Traveling by air is often very less time consuming and with leisure. We can utilize the time we take out for traveling in visiting as many places as we can. But what about transportation from airports?? When we sit and plan about our family vacations or business tours or if we are planning the corporate business tour we have to think and plan taking into consideration the minute details. Well I won’t say transportation from airports is a minute detail since airports are generally located at quiet a far distance from the main city.

We can get the cab from airport also but then it might be time consuming to do on the spot without proper knowledge of what other options might be and there are chances that you can get fooled about the rates. These days’ car rental services are doing amazing job by providing us the facility to book a car online. For an example, clear car rental pvt ltd
They have available in 210+ cities in India. We can book our car which we want by choosing from various options that they give and book it online. Even if we have to cancel our booking by some reason we can do the cancellation free. Their service is in budget and any traveler ranging from ordinary to global corporate travelers. We can book a cab in advance online and a cab will come to pick you up on a scheduled time.

Now why airport car hire services??? Major reason is rental price which airport facilities offer are usually high since they will be adding extra charges and different costs and its always better to compare the options available and decide thoughtfully. But from my side, vote goes to airport car rental services. The extra points for airport car rental services because we can book the car that we want as our cab for pick up and drop service in advance, specially to CCR pvt. Ltd. I can confidently say so about clearrental since we have experienced its service in Mumbai.
So let’s fly away with more experience and knowledge about traveling mediums.
Bon voyage!!!!
Ciao soon with more updates..

"Bhimashankar" one of twelve jothirlinga of Shiva in India

Bhimashankar temple

Bhimashankar temple is a pilgrimage spot in the Khed Taluk of Pune. It is in the village called Bhojgiri which is 50kms from Khed. Bhimashankar temple has one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Shiva. The place is situated in the Sahyadri hills and is the birth place of river Bhima. The temple will be visited by a huge crowd of devotees every year during Mahashivratri festival.  In total the State of Maharashtra hosts four Jyotirlinga sites; the other three are Trimbkeshwar (Nashik), Aunda Nagnath (Parli) and Grishneshwar (Ellora).

Devotees come to Bhimashankar to pay obeisance to the Jyotirlinga which is much revered by the Hindus. If one accomplishes the tour of all the twelve Jyotirlingas in his lifetime he would be over joyous. The temple was built around the thirteenth century. It is an ancient temple built in Nagara style. Back in ancient times Lord Shiva seems to have obliged to the request made by other Gods to kill demons. Thus he took the form Bhimashankar to save them from the demons and made this place in the Sahyadri hills as his abode.

Bhimashankar offers a soothing experience combined with lofty hill view, green forests and tranquil nature. You can visit a wildlife sanctuary situated nearby, and Bhima River’s place of origin.

How to reach :

You can reach Bhimashankar via Pune by air. Pune is the nearest airport to the place. If you are travelling by road then you can start from Pune. It is about 127kms drive from Pune. There are two different routes from Pune to reach the place. If you are coming from Mumbai then take Pune road, go via Chakan.
Visitors will get minimum luxury at the temple. The temple authorities provide accommodation for the guests. However the trip to Bhimashankar could be accomplished in a day if you start from Pune. So, you can stay at Pune if you want.
